Toastie,a big mate and myself are planning a trip to Newbury in November. We are looking for a nice cheap hotel. We would like a triple room if possible(so we can study the racing together ) and if there is a pool that would be a bonus.

We have an offer from a hotel in Stratford for £93 per night B&B per triple room per night. But Stratford is 79 miles from the course. Any of you Southerners got any better ideas for the BOYZ ???? Is there any hotels in the Newbury area(or just outside) with a pool at those sort of rates ???? We plan to fly into Heathrow and hire a car.

All help gratefully receieved.

Rapidly trying to save a £ or two.

Thanks for the info golfer. Toastie is going to call in past in the afternoon and we`ll have a look.

I thought you might have owned a hotel or two and we could have gotten a 50% discount

Regency Park Hotel

This Hotel has a swimming pool i am sure but i think it will be about £100-£120

Another is called something like the chequers swallow or vice versa, this is in the centre does not have a swimming pool as far as i know byt should be around the £80 mark

Thanks YY. I have looked at both, but because of the racing the prices are too high for us JOCKS. You should know we are less paid than you guys

We are awaiting a reply from a B&B as it was something called a bank holiday yesterday . We normally try to get car parking at Aberdeen,Flight,Car hire at Heathrow,3 nights B&B and petrol all for under £200 each. At the moment if everything falls into place we could have it for around the £180 mark. Now that is a bargain !!!!!

Probably stay in Newbury and go to the racing there for the three days. No drinking and no curries this year
