I have a fair idea, yes. My wife is a vegetarian, and she takes great pleasure in informing me of this sort of thing.

I am a strong believer in making a decision on meat-eating after you know exactly what it is, how it is produced, etc. That way, you can make a choice dependent on your feelings towards it.

Why are some foods nice until someone tells you whats in it ! As far as i know Corned Beef is meat thats cooked and then salted, the American version is called Salt Beef. Andy may well be correct abut the contents but i am sticking with my theory.

Yay yay and once again yay.

Alan,

I'm just a bit sceptical about the idea of meat in a tin!! Aside from tuna of course. Corned beef (and tin meats in general) are very cheap. So you have to wonder about the quality of the 'meat'........

I can eat corned beef and have had it on numerous occasions in the past but I do find it fairly mundane tasting and not really likely to be high on my shopping agenda.

Corn Beef comes from pork, the pig has to be dead at least
12 months before it's any good, if there is jelly around it,
you can have dessert as well for the price of one.
:P

Corn Beef does exactly what it says on the tin
Spam of any other nature would be a sin
Vegetarians may be nice to meat
But they are missing a damn treat
So tuck in please as a soaker before seven
And thank god the pig is indeed in heaven
Coming home you may see a flying pig or a blue moon
Which means morning will be here quite soon
:P

Quizman are u being serious? I dont eat pork or lamb, but i had corned beef in a sandwich the other day! I dont think i can touch it ever again! I try not to eat meat anyway, poultry is about all i'll eat, and some fish, but if i go to a restaurant i tend to go for the veggie option. As for MacDonalds/KFC etc, forget it!
