So far so good - need 500+ now.

Critical time now, Bell needs a 50 which would take the pressure of trott if he where to come in at 175/2..

If bells out before lunch expect a colapse !!!

COME ON ENGLAND!!!

Bell is so unconvincing

Can't believe we'e 108-1 - because Bell is so shaky it feels like we're struggling

That makes it sound like a really big issue. Are you bothered by the luck of it?

Hasn't made much difference after all!

englands morning which I nipped out to watch the whole of;

Bell has looked sketchy but when he is hitting the ball well he is a joy to watch.

I do hope this tactic of bowling to Strauss'  legs continues; he is hardly looking in any discomfort and farming runs through teh square leg area.

Like the look of Trott. Got a confident stance and moving towards the ball. Reminds me of Pietersen a bit

Strauss has some ridiculous record about getting out after a break in play but I can't remember what it was... But it was along the lines of, he frequently adds fewer than 10 runs after a break before losing his wicket.

Pathetic.

Just pathetic.

Just like the England football

Get my hopes up then crumble

Freddie better bowl 9-100 if he wants to extract himself and his reputation out of this mess with any kind of decorum.

It sounds as though the wicket is roughing up already and Australia have exploited it. If the tail can stick in for a few more runs AND the England bowlers actually do their stuff, we could be in with a shout.

Do not despair (yet!)

I agree with Jenny.

Can't see them putting on many more with just Broad, Anderson & Harmy left, although Broad is decent batsman.

Really need a good day with the ball. Just hope it heavy cloud which allows swing which will suit Anderson & even Flintoff.

Might be a major day for Swann as it looking very dry & dusty with turn after only one day. They left the covers off on Wends which was very hot & sunny to try & bake the pitch a tad!    Should Monty played as well?
