I'm in a spot of bother and would like to know if anyone knows a way of getting me out of it.

I have an NVQ Level 4 in Retail And Warehousing which I got but have never really used as after I left the job I got it at, I decided to get out of the retail trade and at the time there was no chance of me returning to it.

However, the right job has come along and I'm now considering applying for a retail position but I'll be buggered if I can find my certificate!!!

Is there any way of getting another one or am I up a certain creek without a paddle. Apparently an NVQ Level 4 is equivalent to a degree(I have my doubts on this but that's what I'm told) so it would obviously be an advantage to prove I have got one. The company I got it with have now gone under so I can't get one from them. I know this is my own stupid fault so I don't really deserve any help but never the less would like to know if anybody has any ideas.

Any suggestions welcome.

Jimbob

Jimbob, you need to contact the issuing body, I don't think it will have anything to do with your former employer. For example, if you lost your A-Level certificates, you would have to get copies from the exam board, not your old school.

I don't know anything about NVQs- aren't they government funded?

I think they are run by an offshoot of a government dept. To be honest, the company I was working for asked me if I'd like to do one and I said yes so I didn't do much research into where they actually come from. Sure it's not too difficult to find out though

An NVQ is a vocational qualification based on actual evidence of being able to do a job.

I Have a level 3 in customer care - Equivalent to an A Level and a Level 4 diploma in Management studies but I still think potential employers overlook the value of these.
