FRIENDS
Someone to listen and judge you not
When at times you lose the plot
Who walks into your life when everyone else has left
Picks you up when you're sad lonely bereft
Rights your will and steels your resolve
And problems shared are easier solve
You've known them longer than you care to remember
Trust and love like a family member
Knows what makes you tick inside your head
When words do not need to be said
Puts up with your silly jokes or little irritation
When you feel you've upset half the nation
Won't judge you on material things
Like houses cars money diamond rings
Who will text you on a rainy day
And is always going your way
Their company you will always seek
At least once or twice a week
Sharing life's special and ordinary moments in time
Puting the world to reason and rhyme
A good friend is not a stranger you have'nt met
They are very special on that you can bet
You've known them since you left school
Will never make you look a fool
Always tells the plain truth
They do not like your new suit
Jesus where did you get those new shoes
You must have been on the booze
Raise a cheer for your special friend
For they to you are a godsend
And long may you be special mates
Until you both see the pearly gates
And when you get your wings over your
favourite blouse or shirt
Tell the good lord how much they were worth
Tell your friend too while you are both living
Celebrate the joy of sharing and giving
To share that drink or cup of tea
From seven years to seventy
And your epitaph will read at the end

You can choose your friends but not your family. It's strange that my friends know more about me since the age of about 14 than my parents. It's just the way it goes, I love my family but I'm not gonna be telling my parents all the gory details about nights out, gambling etc
