Thought I'd start a general TV thread, hope that's ok.

Our Internet connections might be slow this afternoon because of this opening ceremony.

I'm going to watch the start of it, but one opening ceremony is very much like another.

I doubt they'll better Australia's effort with Kylie and Crocodile Dundee!

Well it looks very impressive but I've turned it off, I can't help thinking of the poor people who lost their homes , without getting any compensation, so that that stadium could be built,

Hubby's just come in and put it back on, so I'll have to watch it now.

I can't imagine what we're going to come up with for our opening ceremony in 2012, we'll probably still be putting the seats in the stadium as people come in!

Oh ans I agree about the stadium. There is so much wrong with these olympics I don't even know where to start. So I won't start at all(as you all breathe a sigh of relief   )

I shouldn't be such a wimp I know.  I don't have any children so I don't have to worry about Grandkids thank goodness.

Hubby's gone back out now, so do I continue my one woman boycott of the opening ceremony or not?

Can just see the London 2012 team now, reassuring themselves that morris dancing and cheese rolling will eclipse the Chinese ceremony
