Just come off a phone call from an agency and I've got an interview next Tuesday for a data auditor's job I recently applied for. I was quite excited by it having read the spec and was keeping my fingers crossed that I would get an interview as the agency sounded quite positive about it. Now keeping my fingers crossed for Tuesday. That's quite made my day, bit of an early birthday prezzie for tomorrow.

Good Luck Andy!! _________________ You're born with nothing, and better off that way,

It's your birthday Andy
Here's hoping u find the job handy
But don't get in a stew
it's just an interview
Imagine them all naked at the other side of the table
Give them fact not fable
You'll be on your way to a whole new career
And we raise our glasses and say here here
We hope you are well paid all the same
And can live up to your name
Which is indeed very clever
Jumps for fun and stays forever
We hope you have a day to remember
And reflecting back see roses in november

Best not to dwell too much on the interview once it's over- I've had ones where I've thought it had gone really well, and then haven't got the job. I thought the interview for my current position went really badly- I filled in the application form in a hurry in an internet cafe in Sydney and messed a load of dates up, and nearly got caught out in a bare-faced lie during the interview (I said on my CV I'd gone travelling in New Zealand to study Geology, but really I'd gone for Lord of the Rings geek reasons) and I still got the job. So you never really know and there's no point in worrying about it after the event.
Tags, yes you're quite right about not over analysing it afterwards, thanks for the advice. _________________ Dual Welsh National winner and last-to-first victor of the Racing Post Chase.
Another useful thing to remember in interviews - you are interviewing them as well! Think about whether you would like to work for these people, not whether they might want you to work for them! _________________ UNEXPECTED WINNER 2009 FLAT 10 TO FOLLOW COMPETITION!
Just an update on this. I had the interview last month and it went very well and learned quite a bit about the company - perform statistical and data analysis for the pub industry. Kept my fingers crossed as this sounded just the sort of thing I was after. Anyway I got the job and a formal offer came through the post this morning with me starting work at the end of this month just after the bank holiday!
