This could be Juveigneur's chance to win the big pot he deserves.

It's interesting that this year the Irish National is before Aintree. I get the impression that when it's the other way around a lot of trainers stick horses in at Fairyhouse in case of an early exit at Aintree. This year the trainers are going to be forced into committing to the Irish National in place of Aintree - you wouldn't expect that a horse would run (not well anyway) in both as the races are only 5 days apart. It will be very interesting to see what happens to the horses entered in both.

It could be ground dependent - if its soft at Aintree and good at Fairyhouse we could have a right old shake up.

Snowy Morning is interesting, especially as it didn't have an exceptionally hard race at Cheltenham, and if Denman is as good as people think, could be thrown in?

Didn't Commanche Court win this as a novice?

Will be looking at Ferdy Murphy leaves in the race, he like this race and with him having a bit of form at the mo i will be sticking to seeing which one will have the best chance.

MT,

He has already stated that the race has been a long-term plan for Kitski, and Joes Edge will probably run as it's touch and go whether he'll get a run at Aintree.

Thanks Andy, that'll do for me. If Ginger keeps his in will do that as well.
Back enough, just might get the winner.

remember not to back butlers cabin

I read a stat somewhere that said that no horse who has won the 4m1 race at the festival has ever gone on to win another race in its career

don't know if anyone can confirm this or let me know if it's erroneous?

Geordie,

Someone mentioned that stat about the Cheltenham 4-miler when we were at the Mudlark the other week. Apparently it's true. It may have been Kev that told me but i'm not 100% sure on that.

Andy it was Geordie who mentioned the stat mate.

I have had a flick through the entries.

Omni Cosmo Touch- different trainer? No longer with Sue Smith?

Reveillez- why is this horse entered, I don't think it would even stay 3 miles tbh.

Whyso Mayo is an interesting entry.

I am big fans of All in the Stars, Cloudy Lane, Distant Thunder and Wild Cane Ridge, all interesting entries.

Baron De Feypo- 3rd in 2 mile 5 furlong Coral Cup, the back to 2 MILES in the County Hurdle, now entered up in a 3 mile 5 Furlong Irish National Must be O'Brady, UP DONAGHAN!

Hope Murphy sends Aces Four for the Scottish National, he usually does with his novices, e.g Hot Weld (even though a non runner) and Paris Pike who he won the race with. This horse will get the 4 miles, by Fourstars All Star out of Special Trix from the staying family of Four Trix

Juveigneur- like Distant Thunder, surely will go for the Betfred and both will win a decent race I reckon.

They interest me.

I think the first prize for this race is over £100k, so its well worth plotting a horse for it.

I had a few bob on Kerryhead Windfarm for the Aintree version, but Hourigan pulled the horse out, and I'm assuming that's because this is the race for the horse.

Cheltenham Gold Cup fifth Cane Brake has been allotted top weight of 12st for the Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday.

Tom Taaffe's charge had previously won the Troytown Chase and Paddy Power Chase before running a fine race behind the brilliant Kauto Star.

Next in the list is William Hill Chase runner-up Juveigneur on 11st 8lb, who heads a strong British presence that also includes Reveillez (11st), Hoo La Baloo (10st 13lb), Wild Cane Ridge (10st 10lb) and Aces Four and New Alco (both 10st 9lb) from Ferdy Murphy's yard.

Murphy also has Joes Edge (10st 6lb), Hot Weld (9st 7lb) and Kitski (9st 5lb) engaged.

Point Barrow, an encouraging third over hurdles at the weekend, is on 10st 11lb but is thought more likely to be heading straight to Aintree.

Royal & SunAlliance Chase runner-up Snowy Morning appears leniently treated on 10st 12lb, while other novices entered include Patsy Hall (10st 6lb), King Johns Castle (10st 4lb) and Character Building (10st 3lb).

Leading hunter chaser Whyso Mayo is due to carry 10st 4lb, with Donald McCain's Cheltenham Festival winner Cloudy Lane slightly out of the handicap on 9st 12lb.

11-08 seems like a monster weight for Juveigneur. I think he'll bypass this in favour of the Betfred. He's got 10-12 in that at the moment.

Prices are now available for this race.

I've just taken the 33/1 available for Kerryhead Windfarm. I can't see any news articles to suggest he won't be turning up for this race, so the price should be very good.

2nd last year in April to Asian Maze, Grade 1 Hurdle
2nd last November in the Troytown to Cane Brake, who ran very well in the Gold Cup.

KW appears to be well weighted for this race, based on his proximity to Cane Brake. And he appears to have no other end of season big target
