I suspect if was from anywhere other than Liverpool there wouldnt be this fuss.
Sorry if that is deemed provocative.
I have no idea of his guilt or innocence, and uunless you were there, neiterh does anyone lese. _________________ Geordie_R

I find the whole thing a bit depressing. Someone caved a fella's head in with a paving slab. Why should Jack Straw grant a pardon, and essentially over-rule another country's justice system?
The whole thing with Liverpool fans feigning outrage, just to prove what bigtime liverpool fans they are, is pathetic (kop murals and players wearing t-shirts to support convicted criminals?), but then again the Everton fans taking the piss is just as bad.
Liverpool fans seem to assume he's innocent because he is a Liverpool fan. Sorry, we all know that doesn't wash. _________________ The Skanky's Mob Facebook Group......
Guity or not guilty?, only he knows for certain, or the "other" guy, either way he serves his time until proved innocent, as his presumed innocence hasn't worked. If proved innocent he should make a few bob, if no proof of his being innocent then he is in the right place, and this has got nothing to do with which club he supports or doesn't support. _________________ WE ARE NOT STRANGERS, JUST FRIENDS WHO HAVE NEVER MET.

what a shame the good people of Liverpool don't throw their weight behind the one truly innocent person in all of this, the poor barman who got clubbed with concrete.
in fact, you will notice, the victim of the crime is not even mentioned in that article
but then he isnt a merseysider... if he was there would be a cmapign on the kop at the next home game, no doubt. _________________ Geordie_R

Most Merseysiders couldn't give a toss anymore. Fact is half believe he's guilty, half believe he's innocent so the lad is going to have an awful life whenever he gets out anyway cos he's going be passing people in the street, some giving him a hug, some calling him a murderer. _________________ Not as naive as some, but happy.
