Ronnie Moore was invited to a meeting yesterday with rovers owner and chairman Peter Johnson ,expecting to talk over plans for next season and walked out without a job
Tramere were just 3 mins away from the play off in their final game at Scunthorpe when the irons equalised after Tranmere had a man sent off .the free kick for the foul was headed in for the equaliser.
Scunthorpe went on to make the play offs.
Not a good wedding present for Ronnie who this Thursday marries his partner of the last 7 years, Angela.
His stag night is tonight in Rotherham.
Ronnie joked "I think I'll have a good reason to knock back a few drinks this weekend!"
Strange game this football, the management double act of Paul Ince and Ray Mathias were quickly linked with the vacant post.
Also linked are John Barnes and Trigger ,sorry Jason McAteer,Willie Donchie .Steve Coppell .Paul Jewell and ex rovers midfieler Jim Harvey. _________________ I AM HAPPY TO JOIN WITH YOU TODAY IN WHAT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE GREATEST DEMONSTRATION FOR FREEDOM IN THE HISTORY OF OUR NATION(THE I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH,1963, MARTIN LUTHER KING)
I was very surprised at this sacking - thought Moore was doing a decent job at Tranmere, especially with the limited resources he had to deal with.
Would happily have him as boss at Crewe, and i remember Dario Gradi always used to speak very highly of him when Moore was managing at Rotherham. Not saying for one minute we'll get rid of the Ice-man, but you never know......
I am very much in the Ronnie Moore is good for us camp, but there are quite a few who dont like him.
I have always thought he is a great div1/div2 boss. Works so well on a non existent budget.
I thought we excelled a bit last season and we got higher than what i thought we would do at the start.
I work for PJ in my main job and know how much he has kept us going over the last decade or so. Rumour is, is that he is prepared to stick his hands in his pockets again and he didnt think Ronnie would be the man to spend the cash. Only a rumour mind you.
I wouldnt mind seeing Paul Ince come into the fray. But he would only come if there was cash to spend, would probably get Ray MAthias as his oppo as well and he knows the place well.
Gutted to see Anthony Kay go, did us proud last year.
Will try and get some inside info to post as PJ's best mate is a keen gambler and we often have a natter about the Gee Gees.

Word in work is that it is John Barnes and Jason McAteer plus another ex Liverpool player who is supposed to be getting in on the playing side as well. We cant think of who it will be except maybe Michael Owen
Just think we are going to end up spending more on the management side than the playing side of things. Will reserve judgement on the set up until late August to see if PJ sticks his hands in his pockets.

Rumour mill has gone into overdrive up here, with the latest whisper that Robbie Fowler and Steve Mcmanaman maybe in to buy the club
and that is one of the reasons for John Barnes in charge

Some good has come out of the appointment for liverpoolfans and Tranmere as well ,when liverpool announced that they will be playing their reserve matches at Prenton Park next season.
This appointment will only be bad news for Tranmere imo
Not far wrong
My 2 kids are Liverpool mad, so will take them to the odd reserve match as that will be closest they will get as am priced out of taking them to a EPL game

If the bikes not bust ,why try and fix it?
Reckon we could be having a market on this topic soon, in the mean time LAY LAY LAY Tranmere and Ipswich also .Great players dont have to make great managers and some think the recent prices on both these sides are due to the managers, more than the teams recent performances.
