but I think it deserves it's own thread. I have never seen ANYTHING like the showjumping phase - not even at a pony club meet! It was hilarious... Pingping is without any doubt the star of the Games for me - this is his round:
The women will be going today and will have the same horses. Some have criticised the horses as "not fit" for this level but the selectors say they were all fine and the weather and crowd scared them - in which case they should go better today.....
This must be giving the event lots of publicity- I will definitely try and see it in 2012.
The thing is, there are some horses that do eventually realise that riders can flap and chirrup and slap them with a whip, but actually cannot physically make them do anything they don't really like the look of. A lot of riding school ponies ridden by tiny kids get wise to this. _________________ Known as the catch of the camp.
Well, we haven't done so good in the draw - got Lele, the only horse in the field labelled "lazy", and Jingjing. Who I really hope isn't actually Pingping...

The draw was just on Freeview 302 and they're ready for the off.
Yesterday I saw a couple of people use a whip on horses that were running out... but not on the side the horse ran out to! If your horse is ducking left, ain't no point slapping him on the right!
Oops.. 3 horses have been "ejected" so now each horse remaining will be riding three times... They've also changed the course slightly and lowered some of the fences after the farce that was yesterday...
It's worth it for Claire's commentary - she's already wanted to buy one horse and is blaming the riders (which is pretty much right).
Whoo! One off!
Honestly, why the heck don't these people learn how to ride? I wouldn't lend my horse out to this bunch of unbalanced mouth-hangers....
Aaah, I can't hear Claire at work. I did notice their appalling hands yesterday- clearly none of them have ever had a scary riding instructor yell at them to sit properly and stop using the reins to balance. Bit of "no hands" practice required! _________________ Known as the catch of the camp.
