Well, officially as of tonight I hate placepots. I just went out in the last race at Kempton - just a fun £1 bet to keep me amused on a Thursday night.

I was stuck between 2 horses for the last leg - I chose and my horse rolled in 7th - the other horse that I was stuck between came 3rd so I would have got the placepot up.

The dividend?????

£1,105.40

Wouldn't have been a bad return from a pound!

I really sympathise Chewster - I still bear scars from a similarly traumatic experience.  The so near bets are the worst

Chewster

That really sucks.    Desperately unlucky but fair play to get that close, not that that helps much.

Do you know what Yaiyam - in the nicest possible way comments like yours produce steam out of my ears too.

I mentioned in my post that it was a fun bet to keep me amused on  Thursday night - and I was very close to a nice payout.

Unfortunately I'm not as utterly perfect as you and didn't do both of the horses that I fancied in the last leg - therefore I lost. It would have been fun if I'd won but there we go - life goes on.

I'm sorry for obviously being a complete muppet to you.

If it was such a fun bet what are you getting so angry about, generally when people have fun they do not get angry at the same time.

You were not close to a big payout you threw a big payout away there is a difference.

YY, could you please explain what you mean exactly and then I can stop watching the thread and go to bed.  I don't think it is fair of you to come across so harshly without clarifying your position - throwing away hundreds doesn't cover it?
