I know it is early days but really think there are a couple of the bosses who will be lucky to be in a job come the end of September.
Martin Jol - If they lose (looking likely) against Everton he will be my favourite. Fans will not put up with it especially with Arsenal and Chelsea doing well.
Sammy Lee - IMHO Good number 2 but no manager. I put him in the same bracket as Kidd and Maclaren, good coaches but then success brings ideas above their station.
Alan Curbishley - purely for the fact that the chairman looks a ruthless bugger.
I did think Big Sam would be a casualty due to the fact the present Chairman didnt employ him, but i suppose as long as he gets the odd result he should be ok.
So who is it going to be the first one to go ?????
And for a bonus by what date.

I see Chris Hutchings from Wigan suggested Heskey should get an England recall. I hope Dave Whelan sacks him just for that!
In all seriousness I think he might be the one to go first. He just does not strike me as a manager with any gravitas.
Failing that Steve Bruce will be on borrowed time if that Far Eastern chap takes over. _________________ One way to stop a runaway horse is to bet on him.
I agree Sammy Lee/Alan Curbishley must be at the top of the list. I'm not too sure how patient the chairmen of the promoted clubs are though.
Would imagine Roy Keanes pretty safe, Steve Bruce could have a dodgy chairman but has been in the post for a while so for the time being quite safe, Derby don't know much there but I'm sure they'll get relegated so there must be a chance. Also would include the manager of Wigan as well so, there's certainly a few candidates.
I would put Sammy Lee at the top of the list though, all those signings and basically preparing the club for championship football with a championship manager !!!
I said about a month or so ago that Jol would go, as I don't think - Kaboul being the early exception - that he's bought well at all. Even Sven, who managed England knows that spending fortunes on average English players will spell disaster, and I think he'll be first to go.

What price is he?
Not sure if that was a rhetorical question, but anyway :-
According to betfair Jol and Hutchings are joint favourites at 3/1, closely followed by Lee at 7/2.
How safe is Southgate at Boro? They're awful at the minute.
I think Southgate's quite safe, as the Middlesborough supporter that I work with says Steve Gibson doesn't like doing his dirty laundry in the middle of the season and appointed Southgate himself, so I think if he were to go he'd be going next summer !!!

A bit short, but will do. Only problem is the Spurs board may want to give him a bit more time considering the money they've given him.

I have to assume that was tongue in cheek....
first to go in the premiershp will be either sammy lee or gareth southgate, unless of course the americans get sick of sir alex not being able to win a game of football.... _________________ Geordie_R

Sorry TO I couldn't resist quoting this. Its only fair as I got a lot of stick about a comment I made about Swindon around this time last year.
Anyway, the reason why I was reading through this thread again...Anyone else think there is some value with Jose to be next to go? My personal choice would be Sammy Lee who I think should be favourite as the price on Jol is ridiculous. _________________ ROLL OF HONOUR
