The football season is here and this is where I tend to win my money. I enjoy the horses (go fairly regularly) and like a dabble but am very much a novice and football is my passion! I'm a Spurs fan and now a Fulham season ticket holder (a change of jobs means I am going to be living in Putney so can walk to the cottage) so my main knowledge is Prem based however follow the lower leagues too (local club is Aldershot Town) so will have a mixed betting portfolio.
Like Owl I plan to track my bets this season (was going to put it up earlier but the computer has been away being 'de-virused'!). Here are the bets from the weekend posted on the other threads and I will update this thread with my bets as and when.
Good luck all for the new season... betting-wise and football-wise!
Antepost top goal scorer bets (to lay if and when)
Anelka 5pts @ 15.5
Eduardo 3.5pts @ 28
Lampard 2pts @ 50
A Johnson 2pts @ 110
K Jones 2pts @ 180
Weekend bets
Fulham and Derby double 5pts LOST -5pts
West Brom, Charlton and Sunderland WON +42.5pts
Spurs to beat Liverpool (backed @ 3s and layed at HT) +5.5pts
AP Summary: -14.5pts
Daily bets summary: +43pts _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)
Spurs, Notts C and Athletico Madrid 3pts @ 11.45 (potential +31.35pts)
Spurs and Notts County 10pts @ 4.67 (potential +36.70pts)
Wouldn't normally bet on my team but after winning a bit on us v Liverpool at the weeken I am happy to chance us picking up another 3points against an injury hit Hull. All bets are BF and will look to trade if and when.
Total liability 13pts
(pts system corresponds to stake rather than a 1-5pts or 1-10pts 'max bet' system)
Good luck to all who are betting on tonights games! _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)
Cheers Alfie- a good start but a LONG way to go and plenty of time to mess it up (just like Spurs!)
20/08
Sticking with some tasty looking away prices tonight in the Europa. Tend to stay away from the aways but they have been kind to me so far and early on in European competition there is often some value to be had.
Hamburg, Villa, Dinamo Moscow, CFR Cluj and Valencia
5x 0.5pt 4-folds and 1x 0.5pt accumulator
Total liability -3pts _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)

Two negatives in a row- back to the drawing board for the weekend! _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)
Off to the cottage today in my new role as neutral season ticket holder so for interest I'm having a small bet on Fulham getting a penalty and Murphy stepping up to the plate (in a probable 3-1 defeat!)
Murphy to score at anytime 2pts @ 7.8 (potential 13.6)
Football is a game of opinions which makes it what we love. I always avoid betting on my team (Spurs) but the 5/1 against Liverpool was too big to resist and then I followed up by backing us against Hull in midweek AND I'm going to break my rule again. Owl thinks that Spurs are too short and such has gone with West Ham while I think that I'd price us up as 1/1 against a weak West Ham side and so the odds against has to be taken. I'm going to treble them up with everton who, although in trouble internally because of Lescott-gate, need to bounce back from day 1 and have the talent to do so and Chelsea.
Spurs, Everton and Chelsea 5.5pt treble @ 7.02 (potential 33.41pts)
Total liability 7.5pts _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)
Myrphy went off injured and Burnley made it 2 defeats on the trot for Everton so both bets lost today. Had a good day at Fulham- Chelsea were in total control and Drogba looked awesome in the first half...
Silver linings on the loss were Spurs maintaining their 100% record, Everton (who some felt would be finishing above us this season) losing again and one of my AP top scorer bets Anelka getting off the mark...
AP Summary: -14.5pts
Daily bets summary: +78.5pts _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)
Sunderland to knock out Norwich for me tonight... Liverpool probably will beat Villa but at the price they are I'll be leaving them well alone having seen them do nothing against us on the 1st day of the season- if you stop Torres and Gerrard you stop Liverpool so not for me thanks Rafa!
Sunderland 15pts @ 2.06 (potential 15.9pts) (with a possible view to lay!) _________________ World-Cup Prediction Winner 2006 (can't lose that title for 4 years!)
