They were bigging him up in the racingpost yesterday.
I wouldn't want to bet him at this stage of the season at 7/2 though, I think Inglis Drever will still turn up at Cheltenham and he may not be far off that price come the day.
Even though it seems he is not going to run much, one prep run is it ? I will be amzed if this horse is even 7/4 on the day.
7/2 is not a great price for a race 5 months away but Anteposts bets should always be about the price so if you believe this horse will be shorter come the day(which as said i do) then 7/2 could be a good price it really depends on the individuals idea of what his price will be nearer the time or even on the day. _________________ Forest are Treemendous
I could not back him at 7/2 this early though 5/1 or 11/2 was a bet which i see a few managed to get, too much can go wrong! Of the up and coming horses Elusive Dream looks the mostly likely to come on and at 14/1 is worth a bet, this Saturday he meets another one to watch in Pettitfour, a few bob each way on both cfor the WH could be a good alternative!
Without wanting to put too much of a dampner on Kasbah because he should be fav, he has had 20 odd hurdle races so further improvement is no guarantee imo and the jockey???, still would like the 5/1 if it was available
I think Blazing Bailey is a better value bet at present. He made some errors at the festival which cost him any chance. On his next run he beat Inglis Drever easily at Aintree. He followed that up at Punchestown with a comprehensive defeat of Kazal, the Cheltenham runner up. He also run away with a flat race last week, so he has plenty of speed. I am nailing my colours to the mast and saying he will be the one they all have to beat at Cheltenham.

I agree Alan - I think BB can still improve and in terms of value 8-1 is great e/w. He was rough in his coat at Newbury last week and still won quite nicely. I am still to be convinced that ID won't win again, but backing him nearer the time makes more appeal.
Having just watched last years race again Kasbah Bliss looked the better of the two horses coming over the final hurdle and was just out stayed. BB made a couple of mistakes and was well out of it coming over the last, but ran on to finish making up ground, but a distance behind the front two.
I can see why folks might think Kasbah Bliss is nailed on, but I just get the feeling that either ID will win again or BB - a relatively young horse (I know the same age as KB, but later developing) with improvement to come may just pip him - Petitfour falls into that category too, but has no experience on the course.
One thing is sure if ID wins again the roof will be raised! _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzDGTMayREI
Obviously flat is a total different ball game to hurdling but lets put Blazing Baileys flat win into perspective he won a class 5 handicap off 62 for which from his 2nd off 61 3 years previous you could say there is not much in the way of improvement been made where as kasbah Bliss 3 years ago was putting in RPR's of just over 80 on the flat, his last 2 runs on the flat he has won a group 3 and not been beaten far in a group 1 putting in RPR's of 114 which were improved performances of 20lbs+ even on its 2 runs this year in August.
This horse has obviously made significant improvement over the last 3-6 months on the flat so there is no reason to see this as in general improvement in the horse in which case on what he did last year 7/2 is a huge price compared to the prices on offer for Inglis Drever & Blazing Baileys _________________ Forest are Treemendous
I agree Blazing Bailey`s win on the flat doesn`t tell us much. Remember that he was just having a pipe opener, and not running for any prize though. The jockey didnt resort to the whip, and he won readily. _________________ If at first you dont succeed..then skydiving isnt for you

Exactly - it wasn't a serious race for BB and you can't read much into it - except that BB was rough coated and it was over a short distance and he still had enough to win. He does need to improve on the runs at the tail end of last season, but he still may and at 8-1 is at least e/w value.
Inglis Drever will be a serious contender for this again, as long as he retains some keenness for the game
We will now in December / january time
Of the pretenders to his crown I have always had more affection for Blazing Bailey than for Kasbah Bliss
One horse that might well shock a few here, however, is former winner My Way De Solzen. With a sensible campaign and this as his target, he could well get in amongst them again _________________ Geordie_R

Well I have been following Kasbah for a very long time and cant see any horse beating him, particularly on good ground, at the Festival.

Francois Doumen trained Kasbah Bliss was set some very stiff tasks as a 5yo last year (including running in the World Hurdle). Extremely talented, needs to fill out and strengthen up, could well improve level of his form by 14-20 lbs this season and win some nice races at good prices. Will certainly be interesting to see how he is campaigned.
I posted that October 9th 2007 on TTTs 'One Horse To Follow' thread... _________________ RJI
I thought this was very interesting and will probably give followers more enthusiasm to 'rock the Kasbah'

Anyone think after the open meeting on the weekend that any challengers emerged for the wh? Im thinking along the lines of fair along, powerstation or puncshtown?

I thought I heard that Punchestowns was going chasing, but maybe I imagined it?
