QUESTHOUSE KENNELS CHRISTMAS CHARITY DRAW

1 Black Bitch Puppy

Droopys Maldini x Droopys Lena
Born 1st july 2008
Reared to 12 months and schooled

To be drawn on SKY SPORTS TV from wimbledon on Tuesday 16th December 2008

All proceeds to cancer related charities.

Tickets are £5 each.

This is being run by Dave Wood who has a proven track record in breeding. His mother died of cancer earlier this year and he has already ran a benefit night with the proceeds going to MacMillan Nurses.

One of his raffle dogs was Foulden Special who went on and won the Grand Prix at walthamstow with a purse of £15,000!!!Not bad for a £5er

The pups can be viewed here

http://rememberemily.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7

and if you win you are more than welcome to go and visit the pup until she is ready to be collected.

If you wanted to buy this kind of quality fully reared and schooled it would set you back around £2,500

If you are interested in buying a ticket, drop me a PM and i will organise payment and delivery of your ticket(s)

Please support this great cause.Even if you have no interest in greyhounds and dont want the pup, there are plenty of owners who will gladly accomodate you in buying her if you are the lucky ticket holder.

Thanks for reading.

Life holds no guarantees.

Brett, I will pass as I donate yearly to MacMillan nurses. One of the few charities I donate to. I am also unable to fund running a Greyhound at this time, and there is no way I would get one and sell it.

There is no pressure here,i told dave i would ask about and try and sell as many as i could.

I understand your stance on funding a greyhound (im in the same boat)but remember she wont be ready to be picked up until july next year which is a full 7 months away.

Who knows,if one of  us won her we could have a forum syndicate.

Hi Brett

I think this a great idea but as my last foray into greyhound ownership ended in a broken hock at home after a handful of races I am also mindful of the costs that I simply could not bear alone!

Nonetheless as I am unlikely to win I'll buy a ticket or two...

When's the closing date?  This may have to be allotted to the Nov pay packet as I've nearly rinsed out the October one already

My last foray ended with a broken stopper in his first trial at sunderland.Fortunately it was part of a syndicate which dave started and he got him rehomed no problem.was still £200 for my share down the tubes before it even started but there you go.

All monies to be in for 5th december so plenty of time to decide.

Just as a follow up as to the cost if one of you win,i'd be quite happy to share costs of ownership with anybody if they feel that they dont want the burden themselves and that is what is putting them off buying a ticket.

All thanks to Brett and his patience I have received my tickets for the draw next week.

I really love greyhounds and having had a young lurcher for a year I am minded that racing for the first few years of their life is a very sensible proposition.  If they are wired internally anything like their close relatives, their only desire is to run in loops until collapsing contentedly on a bed.  Mine gets a good run daily but he still has taken on the mantle of Neighbourhood Watch on the street and the neighbours look out for him curtain twitching when they go past

As he tore past us at 20+ miles on Sunday I thought that a training kennels and track is probably safer for them and us.

I hope the draw raises lots of money for a good cause and that the little pup has a long and happy career and retirement (that's my Christmas wish!)
