They're much better than the national lottery.

At least you get to keep your original money, which of course you don't for the lottery!

They are tax free (I think). There will be a website about them - have a look!

They are tax free. £1 million payout every month. When interest rates were a bit higher they were paying out twice that though.

If your a lucky winner then theyre very good. If your not the the return is very very poor.

My brother has £3000 worth and in just two years the cheeky sod has won about £400.

But he is one of the lucky ones. For most people your better off doing something else with the money for a return.

If the point of investment is to make money, there are better options.

If the point of investment is to preserve capital, they do the job, but there are better options.

They have had their day. Old people seem to love them.

I had an argument with my wife's Gran because she wanted to set them up for our kids. I tried to point her in another direction, but she did it anyway.

If they won a Million, you would love your gran even more.  Doing the Lottery is just a routine now, but if I won the jackpot I would say I made a shrewd investment.  Most things are judged on their expectancy not their result, good luck to the kids, and I hope they keep their winnings to themselves and mum and not doudbting Darren.
