Yeah, but how many tourists do they get there? You can actually walk from one warehouse to another without hearing a single yankee accent.

Sorry Sue, but I drove the North Devon coast with me mum a few years back and when we stopped at Clovelly she must have felt like she was back in Miami.

Clovelly is a beautiful village but like so many has succumbed to the yankee dollar. The saddest thing was the tourist centre at the top of the hill - 10 acres of tarmac to park buses for the tourists.

The best bit was the Half Way Pub (half way up the hill for walkers - or should that be climbers?) Surprisingly not many yanks made it that far....

On a more serious note, we drove back through the Cotswolds on our way back to civilisation and there we saw some truly nice living.

Ill have to give a shout to the home village on my dads side of the family.
My dad and his siblings all born and rasied there, his dad and siblings all born and raised there....his dad and siblings all born and rasied there...dont know how far it goes back but its interesting as my surname is a norman french english surname and the village is basically a norman french english settlement in many ways so probably stretches right back to 1066 considering i can trace it 150 years easy peasy from family storys.

Anyways Castle Acre in the middle of norfolk.

Tis a pretty country village with castle, priory, river, and other feautures.
