Draw bias for me.
Endlessly debated but utter tedium imho.

Generational questions 'STS would never beat DB over 1m4f... unless of corse the ground was x and the pace was x' joke. _________________ 2009 BCT Winner - Conduit

Flat v Jumps is only boring if it is repeated mindlessly time after time - a decent discussion on the subject once a year is tolerable!
I have to confess that probably because I don't understand them (and to be honest haven't yet made the effort to) I find discussions about speed ratings and pedigree dosage both unfathomable and boring - the latter no doubt because of the former. I also suspect that both discussions are based on "scientific" theories which are at best debatable (hence the discussions!).
I have attempted to get to grips with speed ratings, but as my main interest is the Jumps and as they are less relevant to the NH code (not irrelevant but less relevant) I haven't really managed so far.
Must try harder!
I find all this dosage business obscure...... |

MCCRICK shouting about everytime there is a 16 or 17 horse handicap, there is always one or two non runners and the bookies are rubbing their hands with glee ,as they only have to pay out on the first three on each way bets.
He is perfectly right but nothing ever gets done about it and it is still happening nearly every day of the season _________________ I AM HAPPY TO JOIN WITH YOU TODAY IN WHAT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE GREATEST DEMONSTRATION FOR FREEDOM IN THE HISTORY OF OUR NATION(THE I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH,1963, MARTIN LUTHER KING) |

but what you and mccririck fail to point out is that it isnt the bookies who withdraw the horses....
if the race had only ever had 13 in it he wouldnt moan so whats the difference?
what shold be "done about it"? make the horses run>? _________________ Geordie_R

Agree with Geordie here; I simply can't believe that every time there is a 16 runner or more handicap, a bookie sidles up to a trainer and says "Here, mate, take your horse out of this race and I'll see you right..." Unless you're a dedicated conspiracy theorist.
In any case, this isn't a boring discussion, it's a moan (whether justified or not!! ) |

Going (not me )
Unless it is a new member of the forum trying to understand the nuances of a racing surface.
Here are the rules
A horse that has won over 14f on good going will win a race over 12f on soft going of the same class.

Master google he say
The English plural forums is preferred to the Latin plural fora in normal English usage.
