I find that unexpectedly I am able to go to this meeting (staying with a chum in Aylsham) hooray! I know several of us usually attend (Gromero, Three_Out, Jimbob?) and would love to meet up if possible. I'm not sure I'll go all three days, but a bit of guidance on which are the best (two?) days would be very helpful.

I'll need one day to take my mate out - he might or might not want to come racing, as he is recovering from bladder cancer and he may not want a long day on his feet!

I'll be there Jenny, for July Cup day at least, would like to see the falmouth and cherry hinton as well, but that is on the weds, so most likely do thurs/fri. All depends on how much work i get finished and whether i can bag a friends room to stay in.

Tattersalls July sale is on as well, can you bring a suitcase of cash with you? A few nice mares available that week!

OK, thanks Gromero! I might do Wednesday/Thursday and leave Friday for mates' outing. I don't have a suitcase of cash as it is all going on vet bills at the moment......but it would be lovely to see some nice mares!

My plan at the moment is to go on July Cup Day. However, this is dependent on a few things. First of all, whether I can get the day off work(I have had a fair few days off recently and feel like I'm taking the Michael a little), and also, if Yeats is entered in the King George I may choose to go to Ascot instead(can't really afford both) as I do want to see Yeats before he retires even if he doesn't win

ooh me, me, me!

I've not set foot on a racecourse since Champions Day last year

I need to go now for my emotional wellbeing

OK, taking advice offered, I'll say I'll be attending on the Thursday and Friday - also possibly the sales if I find I have enough stamina    (sorry Grom!) So chum will have to have the Wednesday for his outing!

Jimbob, sorry you may be heading for Ascot instead - I saw Yeats win the Gold Cup last year, so unlike you I have at least seen him in the flesh!

WMH, sounds like the July meeting would do you good.....

PS I notice from the Newmarket website that there is a significant discount for pensioners - so good for them (that's more than Cheltenham does!)

Won't be attending the July meeting as I've not deemed the racing sufficiently attractive to warrant the cross country trek. Will be attending Champions Day however when I will be back in London. Next excursion is looking likely to be the Eclipse.

hmm... If there's going to be a forum meet up on July Cup Day that could swing the odds in the favour of that after all. It is one of my favourite days racing in the year and it is a lot nearer than Ascot(I am also intending on going to the QEII at Ascot later on in the year. The King George was never part of my plans until I found out Yeats might be contesting it).

One things for certain, I'm going racing in July somewhere! Like Westmead, it's been too long. The last time I was at a racecourse was Tingle Creek Day.
