Meant to post this ages ago but haven’t been accessing the forum for a while and clean forgot the times I was on.

One of the greatest golf courses in the world (Muirfield) is just down the road from me and a lot of the local lads are employed as caddies.
As well as a fair share of jockeys and trainers they occasionally get the odd owner or two having a round – a few weeks back it was JP McManus and J Magnier.
As well as being extremely generous with the cash, JP provided 3 horses to follow – the first of which was actually due to run a day or two later at the subsequently abandoned Ballinrobe meeting.

To get to the point (yes there is one) – the horse is down to run tomorrow (declared at both Gowran and Navan at the moment) – name of the horse is Stakers and the direct quote was ‘watch this one it’s going places and will be class act’

Not around tomorrow so am posting now – best of luck anyone who decides on a punt.

p.s. – other two horses mentioned were called Follow the Posse (not sure of spelling re this one as I can’t find it on any search) and Rip Van Winkle – no real surprise re RPW but the direct quote was that this will be the guineas winner and to get on antepost as he certainly has…

Thanks for this.

Looks like he goes in the 5:45 at Navan tomorrow.  J P Magnier will be up but i'll have a look at the prices tomorrow.

Would of put up a bit of over weight I'd imagine

The horse ran a decent race considerig it was his first time out.

Definatley one to follow and its one of those bets where you don't mind losing money first time out because the horse is blantantly a winner in waiting. The horse had a fantastic cruising speed and probably was a bit green.

Bencar thanks for the info!

Guys - slight disappointment re Stakers - agree it's going to be one to follow but when horse ranged up at 3f mark I really thought we were in.
Anyway - update on the other horse mentioned - it's actually called Ahead of the Posse - has had one run (3rd in NH flat race last December) - no engagements as yet but should be out in next month or so.

Head of the Posse (it's only taken me 3 attempts to get this horses name right...) runs on Sunday at 5.55

Hopefully we can recoup the stakers money on this one !

Just had a look at that race Bencar. Not too many declared for it. I'll be having a small punt if it's a reasonable price
