15th October

two races interest me today strangely both at wolverhampton.

In the 600 Todber was unlucky in running last time out this looks a good opportunity. Will need luck in runnning but if I can get 7-1 it will be an ew bet.

The second race is the nursery at 800 and two horses interest me. Goldophin are going well at present and last time winner graymalkin has to be respected. However Fallon Cumani team up with first time maiden winner Diam Queen. Now this horse has been given a fair  mark and having only run once has great to scope to imprrove. However I am of the opinion that Fallon Cumani horses are overbet. The Godolphin horse helps make the market and if I can get 6-1 on DQ I will have and interest and may have a rev forcast on DQ and Graymalkin.

most interesting race oft he day is a punchestown, 4.15, novice chase over 2m2 featuring the fences debut of Harchibald and the second run over the big ones for Sizing Europe who won well on debut over 2m4 here but this looks like a race when he wont get it all his own way

really hope Harchi can go well here, but i have a sneaky feeling at Sizing may be a top contender in novice events this season.

My best bet today runs in the 3.50 at Ludlow. Ironically I won on both The Snail and Benmadigan last week, I am swayed towards the later of the two though. The Snail has a 7lb penalty, Benmadigan does not and also has a 3lb claimer as pilot. I cant see The Snail winning at current ratings and the 7/2 on Benmadigan ( Betfreds ) is better value.

I see Peter Winkworth had two nicely priced winners yesterday. A 20/1 shot in the first at Lingfield, where I backed Black n Brew, and Safari Special who won at 12/1 last night after being off for 400 days with injury. ( A broken bone I think ) Congrats to connections.

Your having no luck with the NR's at the moment Alan - The Snail is out which is going to impact on that 7-2!

For me its Winsley Hill to get the better of Foxesbow at Ludlow and Glenstal Abbey in the 3.15 at Punchestown (better ground hopefully being the key for this one!)

Good luck all

Looks like Tober is a N/R.

Hopefully these will brighten a dull day:

Rezwaan - 2.40 Nottingham

Gala Casino Star - 3.40 Nottingham

Lucky Dan - 5.10 Nottingham

Supersititious Me - 3.00 Brighton

Miss Bottylishes - 4.30 Brighton

For tonight depending on how the afternoon goes:

Gifted Heir - 5.30 Drifting Gold - 6.00 Sejanus - 8.00 Wolverhampton
glennie1970

I think the 4.50 at Ludlow is an interesting race,

The Package is currently available at odds of 4/6 but I think the horse to beat is Matuhi.

LTO he unseated rider 3 fences from home when still travelling well and IMO he would have been first or 2nd to Seven is my number who has franked the form by winning again under a double penalty.Matuhi jumped quite well in the main and I think Noel Fehily will bounce him out and make all.

Matuhi had a similar hurdles rating to The Package and with that little bit of extra experience chasing can make it count.

at odds of 11/4 I will be investing

te]  and i didn't get the preice i wnted on QD as I was a bit greedy.

A more tentative ew bet is alcalde in the 340 at 9otts. Johnson winner last time out and could ealiy make it a double and good chance of at least placing.

Pullyourfingerout looks well over-priced @ 15/2 2-40 Nottingham.

Troopingthecolour
@ 7/4 3-10 also looks far too big given it's credentials.

Trans Siberian 40/1 in the 3-40 on Betfair still paying the 4 places as well, hopefully get a decent price on the place before the off, has a chance to get in the mix after a lay-off and maybe worth a 20/80 w/p to smallish stakes.

Phluke looks worth a bet in the 4-30 Brighton but I want to see how he moves to post before I commit to him today as he has been getting a bit warm recently on his way to post and running far too keen (two linked), officially well in though none too consistent this year could be worth an e/w squek @ 10/1+

That'll do me for today, one or two others that look to have decent chances but not really value in the markets and could be worth a go with a bit of a drift. Good luck everyone!
Jimbob

Had a moderately sized bet on Amie Magnificent in the first at Ludlow

I'm taking a chance that Flutter Bye will stay this far on an easy track...

Dont do many exactas but done a twist one in the 240 nottingham ,Rezwaan and Lost Cause ,think the two stand out against the field, will probably be a LOST CAUSE!

Pull Your Finger out VS.....

Well done on the first at Ludlow Jimbob

3.00 - Jewelled Reef for an interest here.
Gorg_George

Pullyourfingerout ran really well there, Richard Hills beating Kieran Fallon in a finish!!! Well I never, sets my e/w L15 up for a pay and went off @ a very silly 10/1 so all is good. Everyone seems to be going nicely today, let's be having it!

Troopingofthecolour has hardened up in the market here and will be very disappointed if he can't get his head in front today. Nice sized single on this one @ 7/4.
Gorg_George

Seconditis!
geordie_racer

glad rampant ronnie zipped in for the daily thread there; Im quietly confident about marked man beting foxesbow in the next

Good luck with this one..Not won for ages but dropped a big hint of a return to form when finishing fourth at a big price at Kempton last time

Seems to like it round Brighton too.

I used to follow this stable closely a few years ago when it was only a small set up...(only 10 or 12 horses in the yard).

A one stage he had a 50% strike rate with his hurdlers at Plumpton.

Just took the 15.0 on Betfair with a view to laying off if he gets worked up in the preliminaries   , You know it makes sense

Sizing Europe looked good there!

Indeed.

Nice first time effort over fences from Harchibald too..

Got in a bit close at the second last but apart from that, an impressive round of jumping.

No Chance, Arkle is the only race he will be taking part in if he makes it to Cheltenham

intersting because Henry DeBroomhead says he will be a gold cup horse in 2011. Harchibald would certaily not get furthr and will be aimed at the Arkle if he goes there, but SE may well be aimed at the longer distances imho

Arkle for sure. I was surprised to read the other day that it isn't certain Crack Away Jack will end up going for the Arkle even though he is bound to lose his novice tag over fences this season because he may have another shot at the champion hurdle.

Well that all went south rather sharpish.
