Are you willing to pay to watch England live on the internetThis weekends England football international will be broadcast exclusively live over the internet for the first time.
Media group Perform is to stream Saturdays away clash against Ukraine on pay per view basis.
The move follows the collape of pay -Tv platform Setanta earlier this year, which had been due to broadcast the World Cup qualifier.

Absolute shambles. No I'm not willing to pay. Any Competitive match England play should be shown on terrestrial tv. Same with Scotland, Wales & N. Ireland

Bet365 are showing it for free
England travel to Ukraine for their final away World Cup Qualifier in Group Six on Saturday 10th October - and you can watch all the action live at bet365.
The game will not be shown anywhere on UK television but bet365 will be Live Streaming the match absolutely free for all customers with a funded account, so you can still follow Fabio Capello's men on the road to South Africa.
Fingers crossed it works OK

Wont pay the £20 per month for RUK ,so i am certainly NOT paying £4.99 at least for a game where England have already qualified

Does it matter whether they have qualified or not? The principle, I thought, was that major sporting events (and presumably England, Scotland, Wales and NI playing World Cup matches would count?) would still be available on terrestrial, for those of us poor slobs who either can't or won't put money into the Murdoch or other pockets.
So what justification can the terrestrial channels give us?
BBC: "Can't be bothered - and would prefer to spend part of the license fee on Strictly Come Dancing"
ITV: "Can't be bothered and we have "better" things to do with our advertising revenue"
C4: As above plus "and we can fill the programmes with dross like Big Brother for a tenth the price"
Now if the principle about "national" sporting events is being dropped, what in the end happens to the rest of it (Cup Final, Grand National, Wimbledon to name but three...)? The fact that England have already qualified may influence the financial calculation, but not, surely, the principle.

It is just the home games that have to be on terrestrial.
The away games are, unfortunately, available to the highest bidder after Setanta went bust.

Ah, I see. So what happens when they are ALL away games (ie in South Africa, for example)?

The World Cup is one of the "protected" events so no worries when it comes to next Summer.

not going to spend a cent on this
big own goal by the FA
they should have allowed bbc or itv to show it for nothing

Would either of them have wanted it even for nothing? 8.00 kick-off clashes with X-Factor and the Dancing and the Beeb have spent so much on Merlin they won't move that either!

How is this a big own goal by the FA, the FA have no say what so ever in who shows Englands Away Matches. The rights were the Ukrainian FA to sell and they sold them this company

easy
the FA buy the rights, they sell to BBC or ITV for little or nothing
paid for by advertising rrevenue in the ITV case, although the negative publicity atached to this shambes is wrth a lot to get away from of itself.
BBC 3 or 4 ItV 2 or 3, no clashes with any "entertainment" shows.

The FA couldnt afford the rights, As the BBC and ITV buying the rights they would have already spent the budgets on football for the season on something else, after Setanta got the away rights the major brodacasters would have turned their attentions to other avenues

No.
Pay enough in subscriptions to Skyand TV License would never pay for anything over and above that.
Just cant justify spending for PPV things

If it's an internet feed then I wouldn't pay for it, the quality of the feed is likely to be poor and you may as well find it for free anyway.

I won't be watching it, so watch out for a scoreline of 11-11, sixteen missed penalties, 48 nubile streakers, the two managers hammering hell out of each other, the centre circle sinking and all those mugs paying for the game maligning us that don't.
