Is banning someone done by name or an ISP address? The reason I ask is that spammers keep spamming on our forum, for instance Unsecured Personal Loans or cheap ciggies. Is it possible to set spam words or ISP addresses to automatically save the Mods and admin from having to get these pillocks removed, especially if it is in the ID name.? As I say, only a question, which I am sure you have looked into, just nosey.

Hi Papa.... We can ban an ISP, the problems with that are twofold. Firstly, most spammers just switch to another ISP. The other problem is we need to make sure no other user, uses the same IP, although this is more of a problem when banning a user for whatever reason.
The problem with banning user names is they make a slight alteration in the spelling or add any punctuation marks to get round that. Its a pain in the butt but not so bad with all the admin banning a name as and when we spot one.
