Be awareNot sure if this should be off topic or not but just to let people know last night i wanted to do a football bet with Corals as they had best price on the team i wanted to back, i did not have enough money in the account to do the bet so i tried to make a deposit which is one of those where you have a security password and have to enter certain letters of the password anyway it refused it so i tried it again which it refused again so tried a 3rd time still no luck so i switched to another bookmaker(next best price) and it worked fine. I looked at my bank account this morning and the 3 deposits i tried to make with Corals have gone from my bank account but my Coral account balance has not changed so if anyone is trying to deposit to corals this morning and it does not work do not try it again

This is not all that unusual YY - the money will return to your bank a/c within a certain number of days when Coral don't claim it.

What was strange was that i went straight from Corals to the other bookmaker and it worked straight away which makes me think the error was with Corals rather than the bank or any security check

This is correct Owl i have just phoned the bank and they say they have to allow TEN working days for the other party to claim it which seems a long time considering most transactions go through your bank on Debit cards within 2-3 days even when used abroad

Hmmm
I wonder where this money is residing atm? And who is collecting the interest on it? And how many 1000's of other people's money is doing the same thing.
A cynical person would say that maybe these financial institutions regard gambling on sports as a mugs game and with so many 'mugs' having money to waste they've cooked up a little scam whereby they can hold onto it for awhile and collect a little extra interest.
But I'm not that cynical.
