Archive for forum.sports-pro.co.uk A discussion forum devoted to people who want to talk about sports and sports betting! People without a sense of humour need not apply!!
I've got a mate who lives in Holland who I met up with at the Arc. He's not joined the forum but has been looking at it for a few weeks and he had a good question.
Why are contributors who've contributed a few times 'claimers' and those with thousands of posts 'group performers'? Surely it should be the other way round!
How many group performers contribute more than 20 times in their career - was Lamtarra a claimer?
Likewise, the poor old nags who descend from handicappers to claimers seem to go on forever, bit like our forum group performers!

Don't know much about horses, just that they cost me money now and then, but maybe we should have famous horses as your grading system, the top being something like Red Rum or Desert Orchid or Arkle for instance, and famous losers along the lines of Devon Loch or Crisp, on the new forumites and building up from there. I am just putting an idea forward, let someone else grade the horses.

Er, at the moment, it is entirely the number of posts that drives what "grading" people get - with Group performers being considered "better" (ie more posts) than "claimers". It's pretty automatic, and I don't know whether we could change it anyway (obviously we could I think change the names of the different grades, but that in itself is likely to be controversial, particularly if specific horses are chosen - imagine the arguments; "Why am I only Racing Demon, proper dodgepot and only goes right-handed?" and so on ad infinitum!)
I'll have a snoop round the admin board to see if I can find out more about how we do this grading thing, but I suspect other admin are more expert than I am......

We've had this debate before, I'll bump up the thread.

No worries, was just kidding anyway.
I've no problem with the current grading but it is sort of reverse.
