How far do you think England will go in the 2010 World Cup?Superb performance last night and right through the qualifying stages.

The only team they need to worry about is spain, And the only way we will beat them is boot them off the field....! I reckon FC is already planning this.... !!

Luck to get our best players there fit
Luck of the draw we should be in the top seeds to be favourates to win our group but a soft group allows us to rotate the squad and keep everyone fresh.
Luck with referees
and just some general luck i bet if you go through all recent championships the winners have had some luck somewhere but sometimes its just your turn.

A real top notch goal keeper would help, none of the contenders are convincing.

The draw will play a huge part.
At the last WC the draw was top heavy. The in form top sides were Argentina, Italy and Germany and yet they all had to meet before the final blowing each other out. Im sure either Argentina or Germany would have prob made the final had they been in the other half of the draw.
England could potentially have a tough side to face in every round up to the final if they got there making a win a very tough ask. Or they could get lucky and have a relatively easy path to the final with a semi opponent being a dark horse who has knocked a pedigree team out already.
Could go either way and for england i think this will be important. I couldnt see us knocking out form/pedigree team one after the other time over to lift the cup.
I think we will be one of the tougher teams to beat but i dont see us having enough against the real big boys so like solerina i would expect it to be a 1/4 or 1/2 exit which would be about par.
Spain should beat us. We would find it hard work to beat the Germans and Italians in tournement football. Brazil will be strong again next year. Argentina if they make it are capable on there day of blowing anybody out of contention. Holland can turn it on (and off). Plus now there are a whole host of dark horses who can get a result against ANYONE i.e Australia, USA, Czechs, Russians etc
Should be a good world cup.
The spanish should be the team to beat assuming they turn up as good as at the euros. England however are one of the teams that could cause them trouble. I see them struggling against teams they find hard to break down.

As people say it all depends on the draw, aslong as we aren't on Spain's side then we have a chance to make the final, but I think Spain are so far ahead of everyone else days that I just cant see anything else other than Spain winning the world cup.
