lunchi am going out tonight so needed a big lunch to set me up as won't be eating later. from m&S i had a chicken and bacon pasta salad, a rare roast beef & horseradish mayonaise sandwich, and a bottle of pressed apple, rhubarb and strawberry juice. all three were absolutely delicious.
the other thing i really like for lunch is a freshly made burrito from 'tortilla'.
on a friday we tend to order in chip shop chips with curry sauce as everyone is hung over. this makes everyone feel better for about 10 minutes and then a lot worse for the rest of the afternoon
other hangover lunches include sausage & chips ordered in from the cafe or roast dinner in a bap with gravy from fuzzy's grub (unreal).
what do other people eat for lunch?

Anything i can get my hands on! Yesterday i had a chicken pasta salad from M&S, a hame and cheese bake, cherry cake and a marzipan croisant.
My favourite by far is the Gingerbread Cottage who do the best home made cobs/sandwhiches!

I have a Tesco's express about 5 mins away from where I work, they're awful.
Apparently Morrisons is a good place to get sandwiches as they make all of them on site and on the day they intend to sell them.

Currently munching on a roast chicken and salad baguette, from a cafe opposite me. The food is average but the Russian lady that works in there is stunning, which cheers me up no end.
Just a couple of shops along is a great deli that has amazing wild boar, parma ham etc., but you get served by miserable italian blokes so I never go there anymore.
I'm very shallow like that

it's manchester food festival so i had a cumberland sausage bag from a farmers market stall in the square. Expensive but worth it for the quality of the meat.

I bring in a home made cheese roll and have it with a multi-pack bag of crisps every day. Pretty dull really, but otherwise you end up spending £100 a month on bought lunches. I buy a shop sandwich/wrap occasionally- they always taste better when cut in triangles....
I have Cup-A-Soup sachets in my desk drawer which are quite comforting when hung over. Mexican chilli McCoys and pickled onion Monster Munch also hit the spot.

see the breakfast thread
fry up or bacon and sausage in a bun is the food of the gods when a big night the night before
lunch is usually little or nothing but if I go out I will almost always go for fish; like Jeeves I feed the brain regularly.

I like a Boots meal deal
A £2.75 sandwich, a £1.75 innocent fruit smoothie and a £1.10 carrot/lemon/chocoloate cake - all for £2.99
I enjoy punting a value horse and eating a value lunch in equal measure

On a Friday it's a trip to the pub round the corner for a balti, they do a cracking curry (well known in the West Brom area for it!)
Other days it's either homemade rolls or if I've been too lazy to make them the night before it's KFC or Subway. Unless I'm in the Waterloo office in which case it's usually a pasty and some wedges from the stand in the station!

I have enough trouble sorting out breakfast and dinner without worrying about lunch!
Supermarket sushi if I can get it. Otherwise not much.
I do eat a second breakfast though

Have transformed my office into a mini larder.
Have various tins of soup, curry, pot noodles (well snack noodles as they are cheaper and still taste as awful), bags of crips, various chockie biscuits. Have some microwave hot dogs in the fridge and some corned beef. Buy some batches at the beginning of the week and decide on a daily basis to microwave or make a butty.
Today Matthew i am having corned beef batches garnished with ready salted crisps with a couple of penguins for pudding.

I get lunch from the canteen at work - it's free so shouldn't complain - but we do.
But Fridays are special!! Thomas the Bakers on the way into work - Bacon and Cheese Roll for brekkie and huge Beef and Onion Ciabatta with Oxtail Cup-a-soup for lunch. End up too full to eat dinner and so I get drunk way too easily on a Friday night

i have just tried to sort out an order for fuzzy's grub - only to be told that the branch that delivers to us has been closed down.
really fancied that today. white bap, roast chicken, sausage, yorkshire pudding, roast potato, stuffing and cranberry sauce all stuffed in with gravy drizzled on and a pot of gravy on the side for dipping.
that sandwich gives me the horn. and now it's gone. sad times.

These latest posts should get shifted to the thread, U.K's Top 50 mysteries, subtitled the vagaries of baker's descriptions twixt North and South.
P.S. A bun by any other name, delicious, especially the crispy ones.

as i am on low carbs this onth 9trying to get to my riding weight for the NH season, obviously ) I had soe delicious smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for brekkie (better than the rubbish served up on masterchef yesterday by a mile, light, fluffy moist and well seasoned, thank you) and am offf to meet a chum for lunch today when I will be having one of my favourites (sausage with caramalised onion gravy and a portion of spring cabbage)
no spuds.... good boy!
