Archive for forum.sports-pro.co.uk A discussion forum devoted to people who want to talk about sports and sports betting! People without a sense of humour need not apply!!
In the current (financial) climate, it may be a time to re-aquaint ourselves with some old friends....whilst merger and aquisition are preferred to extinction
Banter is banter, and it's been noticeable at times that some of the discussions of late have a tendancy to overheat.....yet the forum still holds strong.
There have though been times of haemorrhage in the past, when fallouts have lead to schism within the horseracing discussion fraternity, so maybe we could drop a line to certain individuals to offer a way back in.
More people, means more discussion, means more liquidity in this forum.
Do the Mods (Skanky) want to initiate an expansion and both re-introduce people and bring in worthwhile new discussion?
who were a particularly informative bunch until their site crashed earlier in the year
Bigger can be better, more informative and a more beneficial to all involved.

Hi Kev, Thank you for posting some ideas about how to increase Forum activity. We have talked about this before on the Mod board and found a series of issues.
Some of the people who use the link you posted were banned. Below is our policy on banned members. I will re-iterate Jennys comment in that we have a few banned users, with new names. We cant prove it but are certain of at least two, all the time they follow the guidelines they are fine. Both have had a warning under the new name, when we could have just banned them.
Others have left here to use other Forums and may not wish to return. We have no objection to people comming back, but like everyone else, they would need to follow the guidelines.
Its difficult to advertise a new Forum on an existing one, we would not allow someone to post on here " Come and join my Forum ". That said, several people use more than one Forum anyhow.
If we get too big, there is a danger we wont be able to moderate effectively. Although people have said we are too strict we need to remember why we are here. None of us liked how the BBC boards were being run, so Skanky kindly started this one up. The idea was too have a board thats free (ish) of WUM`s and for the most part we are succesfull.
The Betfair Forum is a joke, with so many threads duplicated and swearing, that too find a worthwhile post takes age. I am not sure if it is still the case but BBC posts are now moderated before being displayed on the board, at least for new members. Neither option is attractive in our opinion.
Finally, people have said its quiet on here, and somedays it is. The good news is that since last year, the number of daily posts has doubled, in a steadily rising incline. I can PM anyone who wishes details of how to view the graph. Just PM me and ask.
Overall though, new members are always welcome, as are returning members who have not been banned. Anyone having reached that point would have had enough chances in our opinion.
Thank you for showing some interest. Regards....Mods/Admin
