Once again we travel across the water to Shelbourne Park, things are hotting up as we reach the quarter finals and the last 24 dogs.
Straight away i am going for my nap of the day and my only bet. Its a longshot and ( suprise suprise Cilla ) Its Express Ego in heat four, the last race of the day. 10/1 with Stan James is just too good to miss, as Express Ego is likely to be first to the bend. Even though the favourite is an obvious choice, i prefer to go with the 10/1 shot and i know that at least one race from ten, i will be right.
Tyrur Laurel was last years beaten fav in the final, Express Ego also ran in that. Laurel should again qualify, and the 33/1 with 1/4 the odds 1,2,3,4 is a great value bet. I suggest having another go at this price.
Update : I`m gutted, my selection Express Ego won as predicted, but sadly the favourite, Killahan Phanter has a suspected broken hock, the same injury Westmead Hawk had. Its not often they come back from an injury like this, but i fear the worse. It brings me no joy getting winners in this fashion, even if i am happey for Express Ego.
Tyrur Laurel never showed and was eliminated.
