For what he achieved last season i would say that would be harsh.

Paul Hart can't have many more games left if Pompey don't get a result. 2 more losses and surely he's gone?

alex mcleish for me
L.C.

I'm still fingers crossed for Rafa - i keep telling myself that Liverpool have had a relatively easy start to the season, the only 2 occasions they have played a team from the top half of the table, they got beat.

Cant remember what i got on him, might have been 28s.

Cheers

There should be a stewards inquiry if this happened.
Would be a massive shock.

Darren

It would hardly be the biggest shock if Redknapp got done for financial irregularities.

The biggest crook in the game, in my opinion.
accajacca

totally agree unfortunately.

I think the week he was appointed I said on here that he would be tapping up defoe. I was told I was wirng.

He's a sly old devil, but as yet, nothing proven against him.
CanfordCliffs

I detest him.
johnnio

he's a media darling tho, always there with a quote for the press and a scoop every so often. Not a fan of his either, but he's clever and manipulates the press well.

I'm taking some of the 16's about Benitez.

I'm sick to death of him now.

It's always somebody else's fault. Moaning about players having to travel back from South America midweek. YOU BLOODY BOUGHT THEM! DID YOU NOT THINK THAT MIGHT HAPPEN EVERY NOW AND THEN??

poor old benitez

i can't think of another manager who has had so many periods of abuse from his own team's supporters despite winning trophis

of course there is an apparant belief in liverpool that they should be winning everything as of right, but they simply do not have the financial resorces to compete with man u and abramovich-chelsea, nor now with arab-city.

i think the financial hole his lcub are in needs to be taken into acount

With the exception of one or two players he has spent a lot of money on average players.

There is no "apparent  belief" we should be winning everything. And to be honest most supporters don't mind getting beaten if the team have but on a spirited performance. But the team has shown little spirit this year. And the team selections and formations have left many scratching their heads.

I think Benitez deseres criticism at the moment.

And it's not as if supporters are chanting "Benitez out" or anything.

Anway rather that than be on bended deluded knees calling legendary bottlers like Keegan "The Messiah" all the time.

no they dont sign benitez out they just rng up 606 and whine incessantly.

why that has anything to do with Keegan only you can explain.

If Keegan had got us a European Cup a Super cup and an FA cup he would have been made a saint, if that helps.

Benitez HAS been given the money, he's just spend a very large chunk of it on crap. He has taken the club on from what they were though, and has done really well. He seems unable to bring them any further however and I think they need a new manager in to shake things up a bit. It hasn't been a disaster by any means and he does deserve credit for bringing Liverpool back into the Big Four and keeping them there. He did buy badly however, so have an awful lot of other managers, but the difference is, he doesn't seem to have any more resources left to correct this; not entirely his fault, but that's not helping Liverpool right now. They need a new manager a new face and new direction.

The real problem he has is that unless he has some funds at his disposal he will not be able to replace some aging faces. Staying in the top 4 is a real priority for them and as things stand they are the ones who will be losing out ahead of Arsenal if Cit-eh or Spurs can capitalise.

PS is everyone else pleased to se Stoke and Burnley in the top half after 1/4 of the season?

Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen put on "Gardening Leave" after alleged racist incident outside Cheltenham nightclub last month.
What a charming fellow he seems to be.

Could be a blessing in disguise as Chelt Town are plummeting down League 2 at an alarming rate. There was no money to pay out his contract so this should be the perfect opportunity to get rid without worrying about compensation.

Rumour has it the Messiah (aka Steve Cotterill) may be making a return.

southgate sacked after a 2--0 home win that keeps his team 4th in the league and now only 1 point behind the top 2

Have only just seen this. I bet Southgate didnt see that coming.
Of all the times Gibson had ample opportunity to get rid he waits until after a victory
Cant say he hasnt had his chances or backing to the hilt, but as you say GR, cant believe the timing of it.
They must have been getting someone lined up.
Alan Shearer perhaps

I thought they would have gone for tony mowbray a while ago but they probably wouldnt get him now. I think gibson will want someone with a Middelsbrough connection; he needs to make it someone the fans will get behind and start turning up again for.

I suppose he took over a side who were playing in Europe and took them into the second division. their home form this season has cost him.

Looks like Hughes is getting the boot. Do think that it's a shame, they're only 6 points behind 4th place in a league were everyone's beating everyone else. Villa, Spurs, Everton, City, Birmingham, Arsenal, Liverpool are all very close to each other and none are exactly pulling up trees. City's defending has been poor, but they're scoring for fun and it's getting them results.

Pity, think he's a decent manager.
alansouthcoast

I think Hughes is paying the price for some of his "Stars". As big names go, they are not playing well enough. Throwing leads away, as they almost did yesterday didnt help him.

I have made no secret of my dislike for Bellamy and his antics. I have to say he has been brilliant the last few times I have watched him.
Machiavellian

Paying the price for his ridiculous signings, particuarly in defence
