Pie In The Sky - Issue TwentySix - 29/7/08Its down to Sussex for all todays action, and i dont mean Goodwood, although going to both meetings would be a great day out. Tonights action comes from Hove, with the Sussex Cup being the main race.
The big race is at 9.45 and while Ballymac Under and Droopys Carvalho Drawn five and six respectively, should fill the main places, there is massive value in taking the 8/1 about Commander Chief in trap one. The six dog is the only wide runner and should get clear, if so its good night nurse, but if six cuts slightly inside then the way could be left clear for the one dog to nip through on the rails. 8/1 is staggeringly good value, especially as you can get 1/4 odds 1,2 places.
Elsewhere in the 8.50 we see Barnfield On Air who won the big race last year, drawn in trap two "Barney" should take this and 6/4 looks to be about the right price. 6/4 with Betfred
At 8.25 the brilliant Flying Winner, takes on my old mate Foulden Special, Shelbourne Rich and Big Brett Coal ( who i have given up on ) This should go to the jolly at 1/2 but for me its a race to watch and if there is a chink in the favourites armour, Foulden Special could be the one to take advantage. No bet here but a race to watch.
The 8.15 looks best left to an inform Ballymac Ruso in trap five, although Directors Choice one dog may be a danger if getting away quickly. Ballymac Ruso is 13/8 with Corals
