Prizefighter

£32.000 to the winner ,really interesting one this as its for heavyweights and Audley Harrison is in it.
Anyone remember him ,the guy who was going to be world champ.
On paper it looks like he will meet Danny Williams in the final, but has he got it in him to win three fights in one night
Best prices for the eight who contest at the Ex Cel in Docklands next Friday are as follows..............
Audley Harrison 11/8 baldfred
Danny Williams 11/8 sj
Scott Gammer 10s pp ,boylesport
Coleman Barrett 25s general
Danny Hughes 33/1sj
Neil Perkins 40/1 general
Scott Belshaw 40/1 bet365
prices checked odds checker 12.55 ,27/09/09
LongJ0n

I dont know why but I'd fancy Gammer to beat Danny Williams in the semis. What about Michael Sprott too? I'm sure both Williams and Harrison have lost to him before!

We dont often agree but totally agree 100% with this. A load of 2nd rate fighters trying to earn a bit of cash because they cant get a fight anywhere else.
Boxing seems to have lost its appeal over the last couple of years and dont think this will rekindle any enthusiasm.
Would see better fights at any high street at kicking out time.

the rise of the UFC has to be partly to blame.

my mate is fighting again in november at UFC 105 if anyone is interested.

it's a bit of a gruesome spectacle, and very erm... shaved heads, tattoos, women wearing sovereign rings and drinking pints... but it is getting more mainstream and will just get bigger and bigger.

boxing on the other hand will continue to shrink until it is fully in MMA's shadow in my opinion.

haha, jenny, we have never met, so maybe i'm wrong, but my mental image of you is the polar opposite of the women to be found at ufc events!

Boxing is so far the superior beast to any MMA imo. This however is a bit of a joke.

Rocket scientists are very talented, I wouldn't pay to watch them doing their job though. I find I prefer to watch Boxing to MMA.

UFC is so much more interesting than boxing just based on the fact youve got different disciplines / styles going up against each other which boxing cant really match....dont give me valuev Vs Hayes...thats just size!  So theres a bit of thinking in there as well as sheer brutality.

And ive got to say while i think that Dana white is it?  Is a bit of a plonker, UFC markets itself in a really integrated effect manner
Gorg_George

Yeah, I love watching men roll around the floor in tightie whities for 15 minutes as well.

so ...... Ali v Frazier
...........Hearns v Leonard
...........even Colin Jones v Kirkland Laing

no thinking, all brutality and similar styles?

where you might have a point is that currently, boxing (except for the excellent Manny) is pants.
Gorg_George

Floyd will tear Manny a new face, that will be the fight of the decade. Boxing craps on the UFC from the stratosphere, though I do enjoy it from time to time some of the fights really do turn in to a gay-fest of men with there faces in each others crotches just rolling around, nothing entertaining about that side of the sport. Kind of like holding in boxing but much worse IMO

4/9 Floyd 7/4 Pacman IMO
Owl of Minerva

Floyd would certainly be a clear favourite. I'd guess 8/13 and 11/8 ish
BurntFingers

Having watched Floyd act like a complete tw@t on MTV Cribs, it's pains me to say, that I think he's by far the best around and the best that there has been for a while.

Pacman wont stand a chance, but it'll be a great worthwhile payday for him nonetheless ....
geordie_racer

anyone wanting to match bet manny at current odds?
