Saturday Racing 31/10/09Im supposed to be keeping my hands in my pockets in preparation for the Breeders meet and the Paddy Power weekend at Cheltenham but i cant help but look at the cards and then start seeing what i think are good bets.
At Newmarket on the flat im being drawn to Infiraad 6/1 in the 205pm. On the upgrade and could be about to zoom past this opposition. Also like Prince Of Dance 4/1 in the 235pm for similar reasons and again in the 345pm for the same kind of thinking i quite like the look of Laaheb 5/1.
Some good quality jumps racing about today. Ascot is where you look for the Henderson runners and he only appears to have two on display. Both with ApMcoy on board as the stable jockey has gone to weatherby to ride my petra. Any sort of tip there ? Personally id play it safe and just look at the Mcoy rides at ascot for Henderson as they are a powerfull combo when teaming up at a track henderson excells at. French Opera evens should prevail imo in the 120pm but i wouldnt be sure about Your The Top evens in the 225pm as William Hogerth 2/1 looks very smart and came a nk 2nd to the highly thought of The jigsaw man lto. He would be the one to my mind for this. You would think both of those would do for the exacta.
There is 3 im drawn to in the 150pm the big handicap chase. Seven is my number 5/1 who looks to have plenty of scope but whom may not get home at this 3 mile trip. Two that also appeal are shining gale 8/1 and gone to lunch 12/1.
Not sure if im having much in the way of bets yet but the above are what ive homed in on if i do have a play. Boards thoughts on any of the above and the days racing ?
Godolphin are on fire but im backing on the streak coming to an end today with my selections if i do play.
place your bets please.

I've got Safina and Revered in a double - I could do with a good weekend after last weekend
Anyone know why Ryan Moore's not riding? Has he got a ban? I read he was flying on Sunday so he's free today - Is it a bad sign that he's not riding these two

Some of you may have noticed, I know some have from the pm's I have recieved that Sutton Veny runs tonight in the 7:20 @ wolves.
The basic Jist of it is that the trainer feels he has never had her better and as long as she has no Ill effects from the kick back of her first run on the allweather(drawn wide) she is good enough to win this race quite comfortably and he would be extremely disappointed If she could not at least place even If Buick had to take her wide to avoid the kick back.
What I am a bit concerned with at the moment is that you have the dead eight so I have been a bit reluctant to place an each way bet until nearer the off, however I have been trying to get the 12/1 best price with a few bookies without to much success. Was knocked back by Stan James and was told £14.39 E/W was the max I am allowed, Boylesports were a bit more accomadating but not much.
What I do not understand is Stan James will put a max on for one person but will still offer the 12/1 to others, my question to them was what difference does it make who's money it is and surely If they do not want to take more at 12's they should lower the price.
Anyway it looks like I will have to take my chance on the place part with Betfair later on.

I wouldn't have thought so, It really comes down to how you have done betting wise with them.
Also on another forum In the tipping leagues where Stan James are the sponsors they offer prizes for top place in the divisions and I have won those leagues a couple of times so I doubt that helps.
A couple of months ago(see betting topic) on a longer priced horse I was knocked back and told a few quid eachway was the max I could have

I thought she had done enough then when they came around the bend as she looked like she had gone quick enough to not get passed.
Maybe having to track over from stall 8 was Just that little bit to much for her to win.
A good run for her first run on the allweather so may have a bit of fun with her over the winter.
I hope people took the 3/1 TBP as that was a huge price

Super effort from the horse but surely punters who backed the horse in the Cesarewitch must feel hard done by...Finished way back in 25th place and never put in the race by Fallon.
