SwearingWe have noticed in the past few weeks a marked increase in swearing on the forums. Swearing is unnecessary, can be offensive to some (including guests, who could be anyone from children on up) and is against guidelines, even when letters are replaced by asterisks or words deliberately misspelled.
We have in the past let the occasional "so-and-so" go. But it is getting too frequent to ignore. The policy will now be that if any mod notices swearing or the intent to swear, the word (not the post) will be edited (ie the word/words will be deleted) without a pm (as you can imagine, if we tried to pm everyone who swears every time they do so we would have no lives at all!) If people persist, then they will be warned (via pm) and ultimately banned if they take no notice.
Either stop, or get deleted/warned/banned. Simple, really!
All mods/admins agree with this and it is a unanimous decision. I am going to lock this post, but please pm a mod/admin if you have problems with it.
