The Masters Snooker 2009Books are now generally open on this. Ronnie obviously is favourite at 3/1.
To me Ali Carter looks a huge price at 18/1. He's had a decent consistent season and will hopefully bounce back after he had should have made the UK final. He should be in the thick of the 2nd favourite group with Selby, Murphy, Higgins and Maguire in my opinion.

Marco Fu has been in from of late at and 20/1 is in the same "value" bracket as Ali Carter. If Ronnie stays interested there will only be one winner. If you're thinking about backing Carter, he is scheduled to meet Ronnie if he gets past Peter Ebdon. Mark Selby to get to atleast the Semis loks a reasonable bet.

I wouldn't say that if Ronnie stays interested there's only one winner. If Ronnie stays interested then he is a valid favourite at the price he currently is. It's a big if though.
Selby has had an awful season so I couldn't have him at all. Fu was another one I looked at but then decided as good as he is, he's in the Joe Perry bracket of not quite good enough. The masters is a non-ranking event and the players are therefore under a lot less pressure meaning that the better players tend to go further.

I agree with this, but you only have to look back to the UK Champs and Shaun Murphy to see form goes out the window in big events.

Backed Selby at 8.8, as I don't think he has had that bad a season when you look at who he lost to, and this venue tends to favour the same players over and over.
Watch him lose tonight now

Well Carter was impressive last night. To whitewash Peter Ebdon is no mean feat. He plays O' Sullivan tomorrow, if he gets through that I may well top up my bet on him.
Selby is 2-0 up at the moment, not watched the match so far so don't know how well he's playing. Anyone been watching?
Looking forward to John's match tonight, I'm getting nervous already!!

Get in Jonnyboyyyy. 96% pot success rate is pretty damn impressive. Carter to topple the rocket tomorrow and happy happy days.

Hmmm, Carter had his chances, just didn't play well enough. Ronnie was there for the taking, didn't particularly look like missing once he got in the balls though. Fair play to him.

John's out again today against big Selby the defending champ. Looks like a tough game but he played pretty damn well last time so I'm hopeful. It would be just typical of him to play like a dog.
Maguire's gonna take a lot of beating for the tournament though, played some super stuff to knock out Robertson.
Come on Johnbooyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Ronnie - Higgins final would be one worth watching.

Played shocking. Didn't deserve to even be in the arena. Pathetic. Absolutely terrible. Flipping numpty.
I didn't go out. I'm going watch the happiest of happy films and think about happy thoughts. This may take a while.

Well, there goes another one who played brilliantly in the previous round. Ronnie played pretty fine tonight, kills me to say it but he really is a genius when he's on it. Well played sir, and if he plays like that tomorrow, anyone would have a job and a half stopping him cruising to his 4th Masters title.

All fully laid off now at an average of 1.71.
Very handy with the Australian Open tennis to invest in
