the view from the zoo (formely the vue) 12/02/07

i wish they'd stick to 2 weeks apart tight week (pay day 15th of each month)
my picks are:

7.40 droopys obafemi      324
8.00 a million maid          634
8.15 kildare lark              152
8.35 ninja jamie              214
8.50 spiridon louis           345
9.10 swift messenger       142
9.25 ronaldos merit         156
9.45 be all (nap)             126 backed ante @ 14's so will be shouting this one on

i had a good week last week with my 10/1 winner so lets what this week holds out. i also like the look of clover captain in the 8.35 as a v good e/w bet (20's tote and 25 @ sky bet)  as it has the quickest race time and break with wins over the distance cant see why this is a big outsider tbh.

lets hope i have better luck than i did yesterday picking local knowledge for the golden jacket.

Like your picks Catbiscuit!

Especially ninja Jamie and Swift Messenger.  A big run was anticipated by the latter last time out so this time I expect the money will be down again.  Good luck

Just for the record I have backed those two and also Beardys Harry and Mick Mentor in a L15

Sky have surpassed themselves and are showing Walthamstow abd Wimbledon. I have done 4 x £1 e/w bets on the arc as well as a tenner on Blonde Jeannie

Noirs Ted 20/1
Milldean Buster 20/1
Baran Pedro 33/1
Noirs Dennis 66/1   all 1/4 odds first four

Good luck Alan and with your article picks.

It is hard not to pick the same old isn't it?  But there you are.

I expect Farloe Reason will run a big race too, but his price was prohibitive.  Ninja Jamie's was too but I needed the 4th dog.

Not a massive Greyhound fan like yourselves, but had a quick look tonight, and I fancy...

8:11 - 5 Centaur Decree - 6/1
8:49 - 1 Wheres Yer Man - 11/4
9:29 - 4 Toosey Blue - 7/4

This is some back story for tonight's final!  Hockley is a couple of miles from here, sadly my back yard is not big enough for such shenanigans!

I wonder if Quivers has had long enough to recover since running his fast time,  he clouted a hurdle too.  Anyhow best of luck to the final six.

Quote:
Quivers Punch is fastest Springbok final qualifier By Jim Cremin
A BACK-GARDEN in Hockley, Essex is home for the fastest qualifier in this year's Stan James Springbok final on Tuesday (live on Sky Sports).
Carpentry company manager David Allen, a long term permit holder, has just the two dogs at home, but one of them is Quivers Punch, and his 28.13sec trap-to-line Wimbledon effort Friday night left Allen punching the air with delight.
“This is fantastic,” he grinned, “We bought him before the Masters. He is a class dog, but it went wrong on Walthamstow where he got disqualified.
“Barry O'Sullivan cleared and schooled him, and it was great when he rang to say ‘this fellow can jump'. Barry has played a key role and now we're in a major TV final.”
Be All, chopped off when the leader cut in at the quarter, went through in second over four lengths behind.
Seamus Cahill, trainer of opening semi winner Hotdog Jack, feels a 28.00sec run is possible from his dog.
Friday night he clocked 28.25sec after missing his break, but again showing exceptional pace to take over from Beardys Harry (inclined to jump big) at the second flight. Hotdog Jack's jumping was more polished (reckless in the heats) and his owners, Patsy Canavan and Lee Wiggins will be gripping some 6-1 vouchers even tighter.
Just when it seemed form was ruling the roost, a first bend collision left two outsiders clear in the last semi, Billsdad Bill jumping the better to beat Mayfield Daz by over three lengths in 28.41sec. A £901 trio told the story.
Winning owner Bill Waldron said: “He can do it when he wants to.” His dog also gives Cahill two chances.

Draw for Tuesday's decider: 1 Be All 2 Hotdog Jack 3 Mayfield Daz 4 Billsdad Bill (m) 5 Quivers Punch (w) 6 Beardys Harry (w)

Sham and Westmead, i hope this helps

Sorry Alan

I thought you said so in your article too but thought you might be going senile and didn't want to make a song and dance.  They want £49 a month for all the bits I need for Sky.
alansouthcoast

i have Virgin Media so the sky package is extra.... im gutted on days like this.

i might not be able to pick a winner put my 8 year old lad can pick a 14/1 winner
westmeadhawk

Well done to him and Madges Millions!   Funny old race that - what I could make out on the stream.  Farloe Reason ran like he was running to the  pick-up before he had even crossed the line.  Hope he's ok.

Madges Millions was bought for £280 in the hall green sales....

Well they say every dog has his/her day.

Good luck in the next, I will take a bit of Cahill's dog in 5
catbiscuit

done ok tonight had three wins and two places. had the 9.25 in a £2 reverse forecast so that paid for the nights betting.

lesson from tonight: late my lad pick the 1st raceand back it regardless now. he has a nack for 1st race winners somthing like three out of 5 now.

also after tonight fancy droopys totti for the derby(think thats right) around 20's before tonights race.
alansouthcoast

To be honest my fun picks were rubbish. Farloe reason let me down four a 4 timer, all 1/3 shots. Jeannie done the job though, i suspect she will be single figures now.
westmeadhawk

Not a lot of luck there!
Never mind - next
Louis was great though he just has another gear and great trackcraft.
