St James Park - such passion, things get so hot they even take of their tops in the middle of winter so the place won't totally boil over.

I went to most grounds in the sixties and seventies. I have to say I always found Old Trafford to have the better atmosphere of the two.
Due to fierce rivalry the best atmosphere at a Chelsea away game has, and still is, Spurs. A trip to Three Point Lane ( dont tell the Spours boys but it was often No Point Lane back then ), back for a night out down the Kings Road. Up for Sunday football and playing with a massive hangover, unless i got lucky, happy days indeed.
That said, and this is only time related, the best ground I ever visited then was West Brom. I seem to recall it was all covered and the away fans didnt get left out in the pouring rain all afternoon.

Has to be Old Trafford. (not including the actual pitch though).

Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium.
For those of you who don't know who's stadium that is.
Sevilla FC.
I have been to some of the top grounds in England, Old Trafford, Anfield & most of the London clubs includeded but when i went here I just could not believe how much atmosphere and how noisy it was, definately the best ground I have been to.
The PSV philips stadium in Eindoven is pretty spectacular as well because of the steepness of the stands

in term of Atmosphere the Stade Velodrome in Marseilles takes some beating too.
However it is a complete and utter dump.

I've always found Old Trafford quite lifeless whenever I've been. For me the best would be Wembley (either old or new!) although a couple of the best days out I've had have been at Rochdale and Peterborough of all places!

Yeh, I'd consider Seville's ground too. Was at their UEFA cup semi with Osasuna and the atmosphere was indeed something else. Really steep sided ground which helps keep the noise in too.
