Yes/No QuestionQuestion :
On some specialist Betfair markets, a certain player to stay for instance, you get two choices. YES or NO. You can also back or lay both.
What is the difference between backing YES and laying NO, if any ?

I guess because there are two possible outcomes and they don't want people to get confused I'm not 100% sure.

because there are a massive number of people who are more comfortable backing than laying - just can't get their heads 'round it.
