Your most annoying mistakes while betting

I do most of my racing betting on the Tote. The exception to this is if I want to take an early price. So this morning I went to the bookies and put a small bet on Layla's Hero who has just won(I'm not after timing, see the Weekend Naps comp ). However, it was a small bet and when I was in the bookies this morning, I didn't think it would be as short a price as it turned out to be. I have got back from my bike ride to see that he was that short and didn't top up.

I'm basically just getting this off my chest as I'm annoyed with myself. Market support is one of the most important things to consider while betting imho.

Anybody else get annoyed with things they do/don't do whilst betting?

I've only done it once but I laid a bet I meant to back, cheered the horse home, calculated my winnings in my head and went green when I looked at what I'd done on betfair     It was careless though.

I did it once too and it taught me to be more careful and I've not repeated the error - YET!

Had a 4 fold with 3 winners going onto the 4th leg, went to lay some of it off on betfair, had reached my deposit limit on betfair - couldnt lay it off.  the 4th lost....

edited to add, it was a considerable sum.

Admitting to my best racing mate that I'd backed Montjeu in the Prix Foy. He won, at odds of 1/10, betting tax was 9% at the time so I made a huge 1% profit on my bet. I've been hearing about it ever since
