I agree! By far the best horse in the race & I wish I had taken the price a few weeks ago when Big Brown was still in the market!
Curlin should win this & this mornings reports that he's working well is good news!
By far the best dirt horse in the race yes. But this isn't a dirt race Consensus is that Pro Ride surface is suited to turf horses and I think the proven turf performers should dominate

He could very well scoot up but he is not a bet in my eyes, he can only be priced up on last seasons efforts, he has never won on anything but dirt and he has not faced any horse this year remotely near those that he will face this Saturday, I have backed Go Between who Gomez has opted to ride ahead of Colonel John and Well Armed (which looks like money down the drain), will be interested in how Ballydoyle approachnow there is no genuine pace in the race!
I still think Curlin will win, but I may try to find something else in the race at a nice price just in case something goes wrong!
If he wins & anything I back doesn't, it will just be hats off to him!
I would worry that the European horses will find Santa Anita too much to handle, strange track & humid climate and all! _________________ SBH Comp 2008 - Runner Up

the euros did fine last time at santa anita-six perfections high chap and islington-they were however high class animals
it was very hot last time but it doesnt get humid there
I backed Six Perfectons when she won at Santa Antia but as you say she was a class act & they were offering her at very backable odds (about 5/1) so yes some European horses have won! At the same time a fair few fancied Europeans have blown out pretty badly there too! _________________ SBH Comp 2008 - Runner Up
I think Curlin is the LAY of the Meeting at 2/1. Getting slower this season, his form is no way near that of last years, it won't be sloppy for him to impose himself on the others and I understand he is off the drugs.
2/1 therefore looks a shocking price.
Well i had a £30 free bet from 365(great site by the way)and have stuck it on ravens pass.not a fan of curlin, cant have HTN or the duke, just not a fan of casino drive, backed colonel john for the kentucky derby and he didnt strike a blow so i've discounted him, wouldnt put the rest in the same league as RP so there we go.
no point in free betting on a shortie _________________ sticks & stones may break my bones but whips & chains excite me
