David - I totally see where you're coming from and I'm sorry you've lost out again. But we have to look at it for the forums point of view and another free-for all like last year won't do any good. I've re-read the threads. Loads of people chipping in who had nothing to do with the match-bets it's not something we should go through again.
We should have made ourselves clear at the beginning of the thread but thought after last year everyone taking part accepted the risk of non-payers.
Regarding Jet's point about getting into a match-bet with a non-payer without knowing it - it's unlikely to happen as I imagine the non-payer will have long gone by next Cheltenham but we'll keep an eye on it - as I'm sure you will.

I have not lost out, I have been paid for all my bets. I was just making sure and certain everyone else had. See as I start the thread each year I do feel a little responsible.

I think the thread is a great success and gives the Cheltenham sub-site an extra edge, peoples opinions are what its all about on a forum and if some fancy putting a few quid on it then I think it causes no harm.

No, not at all. I think naming and shaming someone with no integrity or any principles is a good idea.
In fact we did post last year about non payers.
By the way this thread was in the top 10 of the cheltenham festival for views, so it was a popular thread, and will always be if you of course allow it to be.
David, I think you are mistaken here. The threads started about non payers were quickly pulled. The long thead about match bets not being paid was the one started in feedback. We didnt allow people to name and shame then, so I am suprised that people thought we would do any different this year. Some names did slip through the net on feedback as I recall.
I appreciate what you are trying to do though, so maybe anyone who wasnt paid could PM you. Then anyone wanting to know who wasnt paid could ask you privately. That way it keeps it off the Forum, if you get my drift.
Two points I need to make. Firstly my initial post wasnt aimed at you but was a general comment. Secondly the post was agreed by the admin alone, except Jenny who is awol for a few days.

I don't agree with your comments I think non payers should be named and shamed.
I did not take part in a match bet this year because of last years fiasco. I will continue not to do so if non payers are unknown to the majority of board members.
Why should I get involved with a "non payer" and let this person get away with dirty tricks again? (and potentially profit from what they are clearly viewing as a no risk bet).

Firstly, why stir the pot if you didnt have a match bet ? I made the Admins position quite clear and it is precisely because of last years fiasco we are taking this stance.
When this years match bet thread started, we talked about it on the Mods board. We decided we didnt want a repeat of last year, so we had two choices, let the thread run or delete it. We decided then to let it run, as you are all adults and should know the risk of not geting paid. We also decided we would not allow naming of non payers. We are sorry if that upsets any of you but the decision is final.

I didn't realising I was stirring anything up, just making my thoughts felt on what I think is a very moral and important subject.
If you read my message it says why I did not have a match bet this year.
I would appreciate a message on this thread to say all bets were settled and they I will be looking to take part next year.
I agree with DavidI felt that this thread was brilliant this year and I look forward to taking part next time.

You can never be sure who will pay you. Someone who pays out this year may not pay next year. To think otherwise is foolish in my opinion, so you have to take each bet at face value with no guarantees. Like I have said, naming names wont be happening.
