Anyone seen 'The Spirit' yet? Most reviews seem to be saying that it is really really really really diabolical

I might go and watch 'Australia' now rather than watch this all weather crap on C4

Saw 2 very contrasting films over the week, Quantum of Solace and Hunger, both very very good. Was surprised at QOS, as I gather it had mixed reviews, thought it was very good, was surprised at the amount of censored violence there was in it. Most of the fight sequences were very blurry, one scene in particular the girl stabs the baddie twice and the knife jabs are nowhere to be seen, unusual for so much censorship these days.
Hunger was very, very harrowing and really really hard to watch, but compelling viewing, very little dialogue in it, the big scene between Sands and the priests was worth the admission fee (if I'd went to see it in the cinema that is!), and I surprised myself by agreeing with quite a lot of what the Priest was saying - not very often that I ever agree with a catholic priest, mind you they're usually kiddy fiddling and gay bashing these days!

Hunger was the best film I saw in 2008, fantastic film making.

Over the last couple of days I've watched Blades of Glory and Hot Fuzz and was pleasantly surprised by both.

Although I liked Shaun of the Dead, Run Fat Boy Run was pants. Hot Fuzz made me laugh out loud, something that usually only happens when watching Top Gear. Plus it was chocka with good English actors - I used to fancy Timothy Dalton like mad til he became Bond and got all PC. This was much better.

Blades of Glory - less out loud but kept me smiling all the way through.

About to watch 'The Assasination of Jesses James by the Coward Robert Ford' again now. Seemed to pass under the radar of many but was the best film of 2008 imo. Very understated and atmospheric. Check it out
