Third-largest Placepot paid at Nottingham

THE third-largest Tote Placepot dividend in the history of the bet was returned at Nottingham on Wednesday, paying £49,067.30 to a £1  stake.

The bet was won to a total of 45p by four separate punters, one of whom landed the bet to 20p, two to 10p and one to 5p.

The only two placepot dividends that have paid more have also come in the first week in October. The record payout of £63,284.30 came at Newmarket on October 3, 2003 and the second-biggest dividend of £49,436.30 came at Redcar on October 6, 2007.

"It’s been a sensational week for Totepool place payouts with this huge placepot dividend coming on the back of a record place return on the Scoop6 last Saturday," said Totepool spokesman George Primarolo.

"It goes to show yet again that you don’t even need to back a winner to land a huge payout with the Tote."

No wonder I had a good day laying the favourites at Nottingham

October seems to be a good month for big placepot payouts..Wolverhampton on Friday evening paid nearly £16,000!
