I stuck my neck out after Cheltenham and said i think Mikael will win the Gold Cup in 2011 and im sticking by that, think further will suit and think he will takie to fences.

Just seen the replay of the Mikael D'hagunet race and am very impressed. This really is my horse to follow over the next few seasons.

Judging by the time of LongJ0N's post Mikael's the machine

Yup! Cousin Vinny was going much the better but Mikael D'Haguenet just powered on.. He's gonna be something over fences.

Mullins was saying they're both going over fences next year. He's going to clean up in the novice chase department next year also with fiveforthree going over the larger obstacles.

What about the forgotten horse, Venalmar?

And Nicanor, it's going to be a good RSA chase next year

Surely Mullins will have to run a few against each other at Cheltenham, assuming they're all fit and well.

Surely Nicanor's time has gone? Much as I like the horse, he had a very long time off and he's not really looked the same this season. He'll be 9 come the next RSA - it would be a great story but from a future chasing stars point of view it would be disappointing if the younger horses can't beat him.

In all probability that will be the case but if you write off this season his hurdle form is as good as anything going novice chasing next year.
