Tramere were just 3 mins away from the play off in their final game at Scunthorpe when the irons equalised after Tranmere had a man sent off .the free kick for the foul was headed in for the equaliser.
Scunthorpe went on to make the play offs.
Not a good wedding present for Ronnie who this Thursday marries his partner of the last 7 years, Angela.
His stag night is tonight in Rotherham.
Ronnie joked "I think I'll have a good reason to knock back a few drinks this weekend!"
Strange game this football, the management double act of Paul Ince and Ray Mathias were quickly linked with the vacant post.
Also linked are John Barnes and Trigger ,sorry Jason McAteer,Willie Donchie .Steve Coppell .Paul Jewell and ex rovers midfieler Jim Harvey.

If the bikes not bust ,why try and fix it?
Reckon we could be having a market on this topic soon, in the mean time LAY LAY LAY Tranmere and Ipswich also .Great players dont have to make great managers and some think the recent prices on both these sides are due to the managers, more than the teams recent  performances.

As above Lay ,Lay ,Lay Ipswich and Tranmere still a good earner

Certainly would.
I just dont blame John Barnes that much. Dont think Ronnie Moore would have done much better.
Out of our first few games we have had to play MK Dons, Charlton and Leeds. So not exactly an easy opening schedule
There is no money in the club, our crowds are mediocre, a lot of players left us for better money elsewhere, we brought no one in, the Chairman has kept us afloat for a number of years and is trying to get rid so he can retire all together.
Tough times for us at the mo and cant see it getting any easier.
VS is quite right to say we are a lay at the moment but the reasons he gave for it shows his complete lack of intelligence of anything outside of Liverpool FC.

Well the axe has finally fell on John Barnes and McAteer.
Putting the physio in temporary charge doest bode well for the next few games. Mind you saying that, Les Parry has been with the club a huge number of years and always commands the respect of the players.
Am sure there will be plenty of cheers from Rovers fans as JB goes, not realising that we have a crap team and Barnes inherited it.
Cant see the Chairman sticking his hand in his pocket so not looking good.

Part of me thinks he was doomed to fail.

I can't see how is abominable efforts in TV presenting would have given him any credibility and if his team-talks were delivered in the same, unconvincing drawl then he was on a loser.
He'd have had to been a totally different character in the dressing room or had a particularly bright, punchy side-kick and he didn't exactly appoint one of those either.

Where now for Barnes.... X-factor audition?

McAteer = occasional sofa work for comedy value.

Maybe I am being unfair?

I'm waiting for him to trot out, the old "is it because I'm black?" excuse again.

No John, it's because you're shite.

As I said in the very first post if the bikes not bust why try to fix it ,so it has been proved.
I am not happy to say that as I usually do a few Tranmere games per season ,so want them to do well.
Lets not forget Barneys spell at Celtic, didnt think he would get another job after that but a great player does not equal a great manager
