I said at the time they signed him that watching his body language and his whole demeanour, that he never wanted to join Newcastle. He wanted back to Liverpool, had his heart set on it, and I remember thinking that his whole press conference screamed "I don't wanna be here!" I do take on board his injuries and lack of decent service, but I agree with Geordie that his whole attitude and demeanour while he was at the club was pretty damn poor. I bet he's sickened by the fact that he's forced to choose between Hull and Stoke; the worst thing is though, as soon as he hits a bit of form and stays clear of injuries, he'll be off to a top ten club without even a goodbye.

I wish him nothing but pain.

he apparently has a clause in his contract that means if he doesn't sign anywhere else immediately, the toon have to carry on paying his wages until the end of july even though he is no longer employed by Newcastle - at a cost of £500,000.

you couldn't make it up.

66/1 seems somewhat mean, then.

Not a bad buy for UTD if they look on him as filling in when needed. Not a good buy if they want to start him every game.
