blimey, the tide is turning.
i've always agreed with pretty much everything that guy says, even though he is incredibly annoying and needs to chill out a little bit.

Don't worry, the tweed brigade will be back out in force in a few months.

I disagree James seems a nice boy ,he reminds me of the type of centre half ,you see playing football in the Sunday leagues in the amateur scene.

I think the camp snootiness is played up for the cameras; he is extremely knowledgable on the history of design and clearly quite passionate about the subject, and also quite articulate and good at ad-libbing during live broadcasting.

My mum and nans watch this all week for the Queen and the fashion slots and aren't remotely interested in the gee gees in between. I'd say the majority of the BBC's audience this week falls into this category and they do a good job of entertaining them alongside the pure sports lovers. A hard balance to get right.

and that is a very

ATR and Racing Channel will get people / groups who only want the Racing, and are happy to watch (and bet on probably) Musselburgh/Redcar between races

BUT Ascot is an "event" as well as a race meeting; part of the "season" and is treated as such by all except the hard-core racing only fan.

The BBC do try to strike a balance and much though I enjoy (e.g.) the chatter from people like Mark Howard I would rather get a few seconds of tags starig vacantly off camera to cheer me up!

Has he styled himself on the Child Catcher??

Thank You Geordie. I've watched Royal Ascot all week on the BBC but as I've been in the office all week, have recorded it and fast forwaded the atrocious, so called fashion nonsense!

Reading your post made me ask myself why I'm watching this farce when I could watch it on ATR!!

I've switched channels and lowered my blood pressure

Royal Ascot is a racing event! Nothing else imho! The BBC should talk about Racing, not fashion!
