See I'm the opposite. I can't stand Matt Chapman, he's incredibly annoying. Sean Boyce and Gary O'Brien are superb though, shame they can't work all day everyday.

I think Lydia presents really well.

Yes I just called Virgin, seems we are going to lose RUK on Monday. Rubbish!!

I guess I am going to have to subscribe over the summer.
Seriously bad timing with RP trying also to get our money.

Just following racing is going to be expensive from now on!

Did anyone see Willoughby on the show at Salisbury the other day?  Classic.  The man was so uncomfortable on camera yet had a fair few gems to share.  He seems really intelligent but it made the viewing experience all the more amusing!  Hope that doesnt make me a bad person...

I've signed up again - They are still doing the free bets offer with VC bet so I can con myself that it's free

Irratating that you can sign up on the internet, e-mail VC for their offer but have to call to get the IPlayer - I had no luck getting through earlier.  Will try a bit later.

Does anyone know anymore about this?  I went to watch RacingUK the other day and it's no longer available on Virgin.  As Gromero said, it has become subscription only as of last Monday.  This article below was published on the 5th.  Anyone know if talks are continuing?

Virgin Media is reported to be deep in discussions about offering Racing UK through its cable TV service.

Virgin Media could be set to rescue the Racing UK TV channel following the demise of Setanta, according to reports.

Racing UK originally signed with the troubled Irish broadcaster in 2006, however was forced to become a standalone channel when its partner went into administration during June, reports the Guardian.

The racing broadcaster has since been a free-to-air channel on Sky, however this is due to be scrapped on August 16th when the channel begins being subscription-based again.

It is reported that Racing UK is deep into talks with Virgin Media about supplying the channel via its cable TV service.

According to Racing UK, those who subscribed with Setanta will get horseracing for free until their next renewal date as a "goodwill" gesture.

Virgin Media recently announced that the ESPN channel, which will show live Barclays Premier League and Clydesdale Bank Premier League football, is set to be available to its digital TV customers.

Despite Lydia Hyslop (and her prescence probably should reduce the price to £9.99), Racing UK is in my opinion worth every penny. The coverage, overall, is excellent and streets ahead of ATR and the pathetic BBC and Channel 4 coverage. No Derek Thompson, no Claude Duval, no Luke the idiot looking for a village, no John McCririck or Alistair Down or John Francombe, or Willie Carson or the incredibly irratating and irksomely loquacious Zoe Bird and Alex Quinn; just professionalism, good camera angles, expert punditry and only the occasional interview with "free advert" seeking bookies.

And this nonsense about ATR being free should be challenged too. It ain't free.

I don't agree I think RUK is very poor compared to ATR as surely there is more to racing than Just watching the races & then replays of those same races.
ATR have all the other features like The Sunday Forum, GET ON, The Irish Angle etc etc plus they also get many more Interviews with trainers, Jockeys & Owners before the races and after.
For what RUK show to me it is very poor value.

ive subscribed again and given the online access to my friend so all in all we have squeezed every inch of value we can.

£20 does seem a bit steep though
