finding a level is right

shola. smith, even cocothe clown are good enough for div2

taylor going is a miss; campbell is a typical newcastle buy, famous name way past sell-by date. i am not impressed by the idea.

but we are living on frees and loans....

Not worried about West Brom personally, think they will make the play-offs but thats it. I have seen a few better teams in the league who I think will push for the top two more. But we'll see...

I think the problem for Newcastle will be the size of their squad. They have started brilliantly and Chris Hughton deserves enormous credit but I do wonder how they will cope when injuries and suspensions pile up.

On the plus side, Kevin Nolan is rediscovering his best form and his goals from midfield might prove crucial. Alan Smith appears determined to relaunch his career, they have a couple of kids (Carroll and Taylor) who desperately want to play for the shirt (rare these days) and still have the stature to attract players if any money is made available.

Personally, I think their best bet is to exploit the loan market and bring in some fringe Premiership players to bolster their squad.

By the looks of it we no more players will be leaving in the next hour or so, and with Lovenkrands coming in and a few decent young players coming through I think, and this is going to be a bold statement, that Newcastle will win the league. When you look at the quality the Newcastle team has compared to other Championship clubs then I just cant see any reason why we couldnt win that league. We have 5 or 6 premiership quality players when most other teams barely even have 1 or 2. Ok Boro and West Brom have decent teams on paper but I just think Newcastle might have the edge with the right kind of players. The likes of Smith, Barton, Taylor, Nolan all suit this league perfect. I guess we'll learn quite a bit over the next two games, two tough trips to Cardiff and Blackpool could quite easily define the rest of our season

Early days yet, we've picked up points without playing particularly well thus far so pretty confident we'll start knocking in a few more goals soon. If only we could sort the defence out...

Who you fancy to be up the top then? Honestly can't see us being outside the top 3, the 3 that came down look the 3 to beat tho not seen too much of Boro.

I think this league will take a lot of twists and turns
boro are selling and cant get anyone in, I think they will struggle to get beyond the playoff spots. west brom will be thereabiuts,

i dont know what to think abut our start to behonest. the football i saw in this division last season 9wolves and burnely i aprticular) was really high tempo, and so far it has been less so.

Bristol c the two sheffields will be in the mix

If we (Cardiff) manage to keep our players fit and get our best eleven out on the pitch every week we will be bang there. We're definitely good enough; don't know if anyone saw the Cardiff v Bristol City game on sky the other week but we hammered them, played them off the park. Our squad could find us out down the stretch however.

No, its 273 this one, 274 - that'll be halfway through the season when we drop down to 10th and we call for Sir Chris Houghton's head, get Keegan back and win 4 games in a row
